2011, my brother and I went to see TTB at the Tower Theater in Upper Darby, incredible show. The buses were parked on the side street right outside the main entrance of the venue. So we hung around, eventually as the crew started pulling gear out, the band members came out. We met the original horn section guys as they forgot the alarm code to the bus and set it off prompting them to quickly glance around and then "assume the position" against the bus. Gave us a good laught. Derek and Mike snuck quickly into their bus (but I did get Derek to sign my ticket, along with everyone in the band but Mike), talked to the drummers. My brother was waiting for his hero, Oteil. Susan came out of the bus and hung out with people for about half an hour. Then Kofi came out. You hear someone yell "Hey Kofi" and he turns and looks like "what's up?" and the guy goes "Let me buy you a beer" and he went with that fan to a bar right down the street and had a beer with him. I'll never forget that.

I saw them twice last week in Dallas and just can't get enough. I've listened to Signs about 30 times in the last few days and it just gets better and better with each listen. Kofi is all over this record and will be surely missed- RIP Brother and Jam on in the higher plane!

What a tremendous loss to American music. I still get truly emotional when I think of Kofi's passing. I have been such a huge fan Kofi's ever since I was introduced to Derek and Susan around 2004. At the time he was with Derek in his band. Obviously the entire band both then and now have talent that seems to come from another dimension, but Kofi always managed to lift every one up. He was so amazing in complimenting everyone else's strengths...you could always feel that they were family. I have been lucky enough to meet and hang out with the band a couple of times...the last time I was talking with JJ, we talked for at least an hour about Kofi. He had just returned to the band after a major heart issue and JJ said Kofi was back and playing better than ever. He wasn't wrong. The following night Kofi lit up the entire venue and the band responded, they knew that they were witnessing something specail. It remains to this day the greatest show I have ever seen, and everyone who was there owes it to Kofi. R.I.P. we still love you, brother.

Miss Kofi and have so much respect for all he did in life. With that said thank you TTB for introducing me to Gabe Dixon. Not just how well he has gelled with the band but now discovering his solo work. Rip Kofi :(

Do you notice a difference? Fuck yeah. Tape/analog is everything. I am convinced it is why folks think Jimi and Duane “sound” better than Derek and Warren.
