Mavs and Wolves run very similar defenses, relying on size, funnel drives into the bigs and take away the 3 by any mean necessary, giving up the mid range but still pestering them so that they don’t feel comfortable taking them. This is gonna be about the offense IMO, and I trust the mavs above the wolves offensively. It’s gonna be a rock fight tho it’s gonna be fun

yep. And this type of defense is more effective against the wolves offense than the mavs offense. Mavs has more players who can be kinda efficient with contested 3s and midrange, and both playmakers to find better shots. As a team if everybody shows up i think mavs are favored. But we dont know how Luka or Kyrie will look, on the other hand young blood Ant isnt proved, he might feel the moment as he had a bad game 7 last series.

Jones, PJ wahington, Green even Kyrie can match up well with Edwards who is only 6'4. The problem actually is Reid and Towns they will give problems for dallas. If only Kleber is not injured he is the answer to Timberwolves bigs and stretch four or power forward like Reid.

Mavs in 6!! NO ONE AFRAID OF THE BIG BAD WOLF!!! The Dallas defense has faced better and shut them down. The Wolves offense will be easy for them. The Clippers have 4 future HOFers. The Thunder had a Top 5 offense and defense with 1 of the best 3 point shooting teams. But the Mavs & Luka can take advantage of the Wolves defense. Luka has already played Rudy off the court before. Luka has already played guards as small as Conley off the court. And Luka can go hunting for KAT and get him into foul trouble. The problem with the Wolves is that they will ALWAYS have at least 1 (not even counting Gobert) of their version of WestBRICK or Giddey on the court. Sometimes as much as 3 guys you'd be fine shooting a 3.

Yeah, I think Dallas presents some pretty glaring matchup problems, but let’s not get crazy here. Minnesota is still a good offensive team. Conley is a great vet point guard, KAT is shooting over 40% from 3, Ant is Ant, mcdaniels is their version of PJ, and Gobert is absolute dog shit and the most overrated player in the nba mavs in 6

I'm interested in seeing if Wolves try a zone. I think Mavs offense is too good and smart for that. Everyone will eat. If they end up having to match 1 on 1 I think Luka and Kyrie will look to find mismatched. Getting back Maxi to go small ball would be huge!

I've watched the Timberwolves playoff games and they wore down the Suns and ultimately the Nuggets with a relentless defense and deep bench. Dallas could overcome this if their defense proves equal to the task, though I don't think they have an equivalent bench, so will have to be very efficient when starters are on the floor and then try as best they can to hold serve as the bench starts to have to come in.

durant can give you points consistently but he cannot collapse defenses like kyrie and then make offensive plays for your team that is single big difference between them also the other big difference kyrie can give you points when you need them the most durant can't do that, durant is a scoring machine, kyrie can destroy defenses if he has to

Aside from his time in golden state I don’t think Durant has been very good in the playoffs. Kyrie has at least been occasionally electric in playoff games and he does have that signature shot that won the title for Cleveland. You can’t say that about any OKC player in history. They’ve just never had playoff greatness. For the Mavs Luka needs to have a great series for Dallas to win. Boston will be an even bigger challenge. We will see. This is what makes playoff sports the only thing worth watching on the tube live.

@@MetalMix111 We ain't, our team had to bust their ass through injuries all the first half of the season, get acclimated to the new guys in the rotation for the second half of the season, beat a 5th seeded clippers team with 3.5 hall of famers and dirty defenses with the help of the refs, a #1 Seeded OKC team with an MVP Candidate in SGA at the forefront while they played dirty defense with the help of the refs, and now we are facing a loaded Minnesota Team with 3 all stars / a multiple time defensive player of the year / solid role players which I'm sure the refs will help, I like our chances against any team on the planet. To all you haters, you didn't give LUKAI a chance at the beginning of the season, end of the season, playoffs, and now WCC, I say this respectfully, stay over there. The level of disrespect we have had to tolerate all year from the media, and the fandoms from other teams has been high in volume, and unnecessary. We only try to put our guys up, appreciating their historic run, while the rest of the fandoms put our guys down. To quote Luka Doncic, "IF YOU DONT BELIEVE YOU SHOULDN'T BE HERE"! @@klefusmcdonald2644 Why would the refs all be constantly against Dallas? What did Dallas do to the refs that would make them all make calls in favor of the other teams? Even in a realistic scenario of Refs getting paid to throw games it would be dependent on the situation not the team. There isn’t a billionaire out there bank rolling refs to always make calls against the Mavs.

@@hotdangers In my personal opinion, I think the NBA has it in for the Dallas Mavericks as a whole, the outspoken previous owner Mark Cuban, and the now outspoken Luka and Kyrie, completely has nothing to do with basketball, but PR and the brand of the NBA. If you look at the history of the NBA and Mark Cuban in the past two decades, Kyrie in the past 5 years or so, and Luka in present day stating "it's easier to score in the NBA than it is oversees", the NBA never forgets these things, and IMHO, they treat the Mavs different from the rest of the NBA, including our Texas brethren, the SAS. All of this is my opinion, having been watching the Mavs for the past 25 years or so. The national media are the foot soldiers of the NBA, they praise who they say, and literally mention as little as possible whom they say, and smear those they don't feel fall in line.

Wolves fan here. I will say officiating is all our fans talk about, if McDaniels, KAT, Gobert, or ANT get in foul trouble everything collapes and Wolves get blown out. So, depending on officiating crew if they swallow the whistle or not is how Wolves win. I will say, I respected the Suns, but after the series I'll never root for Booker ever again. And then Denver, I had highest regards for them but now Jamal Murray maybe my most hated player in NBA. Here comes Dallas, love the team, I wonder if a Mav will loose their cool with officials/press like Booker & Murray?

Conley is a great vet point guard, KAT is shooting over 40% from 3, Ant is Ant, mcdaniels is their version of PJ, and Gobert is absolute dog shit and the most overrated player in the nba mavs in 6

I can tell a lot of Mavs fans aren’t watching both teams if they think A: all they need is Kyrie and Luka to win B: counting out Jaden’s defensive capabilities. You need everybody to step up! Jamal and Jokic, one of the leagues best duos, had 69 points between them but their rest of the team never saw a double digit figure. You can’t count any of these wolves player out offensively or defensively. All 6 men had double digit points. It’s going game 7, and as a Mavs fan, that is not where I want to be with these guys because there’s still one more battle afterwards.

@@benjaminbowman8743 defence is there no doubt but attack... if conley could not play (fouls) and ant is not hitting his pullup shots... also Denver attack is nothing like Mavs attack... who is shoting 3pt in Denver'? Noovne could hit 3pt... mavs has luka, kyrie, pj, Djones, hardy, green all hitting 3pt at great % in denver you have 2 at most 3 players that was hitting 3pt so then just pack under basket and wait!

No chance to Dallas to win this series Wolfs is the best team in west. Luka is got injured and still yelling for each play. Kyrie is not Kyrie he is so passive and doesn't like to take the ball and Luka is so slowly to build the off which is perfect for Wolfs. In this series no advantage for Dallas in big. The advantage goes to Wolfs. Last game against OKC wasted many ball in Off and Lively save them because no rim protector in OKC but in wolfs you cannot miss all of this even last play by Luka in game 6 was soooooo bad and Mavs was lucky Shai did silly mistake or series go to game 7. Last thing a lot of turn offer by Mavs since they are classic in off just luka slow down the game and no ideas like Kerr in Golden which lead to turnoffer and make it easy to predict for strong deference Wolfs in 4 or 5 .

On the flip, Mavs came back from 17 pts down, just like Wolves from 20 in game 7. Both clutch teams. And if SGA had not fouled, Kai was already there with the put back for 2 pts. Of course we'll never know how it might have played out had SGA not fouled PJ.
