@sweatybotfn9982 i doubt that as anything and everything china makes is stolen from other nations (mainly the west), so it is really just a cheap knock-off and I've heard that china has a common problem in all its engines and that is endurance They don't last as long(especially when they're pushed to the max) so they need more maintenance and repairs compared to there western counterparts

Jet engine response time has sure come a long way since my carrier landing training days in the T-2C. Back then you had to move the throttle in response to where you want the power level to be in about 1 to 2 seconds in the future. That made it fun trying to stay on the targeted glide slop to hit the designated wire.

Man, your videos have such practical quality! I think it'd be a blast to work for Pratt & Whitney. Did you happen to ask them why they don't just incorporate a retractable FOD screen on their engines? That would make a lot of places accessible for our aircrafts in terms of take off and landing. You should do GE next and get a look-see at their adaptive cycle engine.
@superskullmaster
@superskullmaster 5 ай бұрын
I can answer this. As far as turbofan/turbojet engines in general, adding a mesh in the inlet severely reduces performance. This is not as big of an issue on helicopters where ram recovery is not even a consideration. Speaking of stealth, anything in the inlet is a radar cross section that you don’t want and any unnecessary moving parts is weight you can’t get rid of which decreases payload.

However the F-15EX variant is still my favorite and it will become more of a best selling most successful per mission fighter EVER MADE I hope the F-15EX can shatter the original F-15 record! There isn't any technology on F-15EX newer than F-35. Engines, Radar, cockpits, airframe, flight control system, and subsystems are generations behind. This F135 motor is decades more advanced than F110s. F-35's APG-81 is fused with an RF antennae suite distributed all over the airframe like a spy plane, as well as 7 different IR sensors. F-35 flight control system is fiber-optic with self-contained electrohydrostatic actuators. F-15EX still has hydraulic lines and actuators, though it does have a modernized DFLCS with excellent control logic. Man Machine Interface is superior in the F-35 due to minimal switches and buttons, with the HMDS and PCD.

Dry thrust of F135 is 125 KN, INDIA's need is 110 KN of dry thrust. Hope it may happen in near future after collaboration with GE414 Engine deal

I expected the throttle in the control room to look a lot closer to one in a fighter jet. That was cool to see.
@fightingfalconfan
@fightingfalconfan 5 ай бұрын
Lol that wasn't even remotely close to the one in the cockpit. One in the cockpit is modeled closer to the F16. Multiple buttons/switches/knobs. Stick is also modeled after the F16.

I worked on the assembly floor at this place 45 years ago. Only JT-8s and JT-9s were built there then. My Dad and oldest brother both retired from there. My wife’s Dad and oldest brother also retired from there. It wasn’t my dream job.

Well it’s certainly my dream job and I’m wondering what job title exactly is it? Or more straight forward what exactly am I going to school for to get a job at this or a similar facility?
@Chris_at_Home
@Chris_at_Home 5 ай бұрын
@@nyansfen2328 I really don’t remember the job title. I was an avionics technician on P-3s before I worked there and wanted to work in it again. I moved to Alaska and had a great career in electronics and telecommunications as a technician. I also got to fly in many different types of planes and helicopters being flown to places around Alaska to do this. Flying to mountain top communications sites in a helicopter is more fun than building jets engines.

I was visiting the test cell when someone asked what the throttle lever was for if the testing was all automated. Guy in charge said that’s the generals lever. He’s the only one who ever gets to use it when it’s running. lol lol.

15:28 nice little teaser for the laser weapons they're gonna add to the fighter jets, I'm assuming it will enable the jets to directly fight back against missiles and such, rendering it immune to any threat in the off chance it ever even gets detected and locked on by enemy missiles

CANT WAIT FOR IT! Is the f22 more powerful combined?
@LRRPFco52
@LRRPFco52 5 ай бұрын
Each F119-PW-100 motor provides 35,000lbs of thrust, for a combined total of 70,000lbs. The F-22A also weighs more, but still has higher thrust-to-weight ratio due to massive amounts of excess thrust. Interestingly though, the F-35A will out drag-race it from 200knots to Mach 1. Then the F-22 will walk away from the F-35A in supersonic regime, where its engines were optimized for supercruise and Mach 2.2 performance.
