The guy got his movie Made and he’s still getting paid for it with it playing in various random cinemas to this day. That’s an “accomplishment” most indie budgets can’t say they’ve reached. With that said, man it’s a bizarre film and story behind it haha And I love in some parts of your narrative, I can almost hear you trying hard to not laugh! :)

@@cyberjunq not even that one. There are so many movies a million times worse than The Room or Fateful Findings. The stuff, those hacks from The Asylum produce is just bad. At least The Room and all such movies have some redeeming quality and quite the cult status.

It definitely could have been without Sandy's work. That said, it is in the running for the worst film made that's still enjoyable to watch.

6:45 it makes sense to buy the equipment if you plan on starting your own production or rental company, which I think was Tommy’s intention. Also, alot of larger productions decide to buy cameras instead of renting, then sell them afterwards cuz it’s actually cheaper than renting over time. For instance: you buy a $30K camera, which would cost $20k+ to rent for 2 months, then sell it for $25K after wrap, which means you rented it for only $5K for 2 months. They did it recently with Matrix 4, just buying a ton of cameras, then selling them off, which is much cheaper than renting for months at a time.

Yeah anyone who knows anything knows he made a ton of correct decisions that AUTEURS MAKE. And on the cinematography I wont even help our clueless narrator here, about resevoir dogs or pulp fiction cinematography. The worst movie ever made is this idiot narrators life.

Wow, this is a very important Essay, because of what NOT to do. By the time you reach the Shadows subject after 8 minutes in, you realize how essential it is to diffuse light and shadows, because they look so distracting sometimes. Thank you

Deliberate overspending, nonsense production organisation (or lack thereof), hilariously bad script, terrible acting, cheap visuals. And still they made the budget back. I don't even know what to say. Guess it's true you can do anything if you got the money.

With all the criticism it gets, nobody seems to point out the fact that Johnny is apparently a banker, despite the fact that a banker would never dress like that or be allowed to have this kind of hairstyle.

Great informative video! At the very least The Room was made with professional equipment by people competent enough to fight their way through Tommy Wiseau's "direction". For total incompetence where absolutely eveything is wrong, look no further than Birdemic by James Nguyen. It was clearly made with at least as much passion as The Room. About Neil Breen: I have no idea what to make of him. Calling his films bizarre is an understatement.

Could someone explain to me please why it’s bad to purchase equipment? I dream of making a movie one day, and I planned on purchasing equipment as well, as I feel it gives me more time to play with it and shouldn’t stress me out as much in terms of shooting days. Also, renting can get expensive over time. Then my plan was to shoot everything in a studio as well to avoid needing licenses and also same reason so that I wouldn’t stress out if we didn’t get the scene shot in time we can try again tomorrow. Basically Tommy did everything I would do, except that I have never made a movie while he did.

I don't think it's bad if it's affordable. The Bmpcc4k is the best bank for buck Cinema camera out right now. I'd spend more money on cinematographer, locations, actors, sound and other things then buying an expensive $8000 to $50,000 Cinema camera
@razorbeard6970

The equipment is expensive to buy and maintain while the advancements and new models coming out all the time make owning something unnecessary. On top of that, he bought for two different formats. It was definitely a waste of money for the amount of content he would end up churning out.

Regardless of everything tommy did o r not did , or where the fuck his come form one thing I have to say is that mad respect for this dude , he’s somehow a inspiration for everyone in the film I know it’s weird , to say this but his lack of talent , his talent and everything and his background I really had a respect and admire for this dude he accomplished his dream whit out hurting anybody. Tommy is the best worst directors I’ve ever seen but he’s definitely a good guy to hang out and learn from his mistake . I love tommy but I can’t take seriously his movies
