While I commend this effort to house the unhoused, The New Testament says that Christians are supposed to open their homes to other believers. That's the actual solution. Banning verbal evangelism (aka proselytizing)? That's not Biblical love. Good works and good words go together to build up others' faith in the Good News of Christ! 1 Peter 3:13-17 - Now, who will want to harm you if you are eager to do good? But even if you suffer for doing what is right, God will reward you for it. So don't be afraid and don't worry. Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if you are asked about your Christian hope, always be ready to explain it. But you must do this in a gentle and respectful way. Keep your conscience clear. Then if people speak evil against you, they will be ashamed when they see what a good life you live because you belong to Christ. Remember, it is better to suffer for doing good, if that is what God wants, than to suffer for doing wrong! 👉 1 Peter 4:9 - Cheerfully share your home with those who need a meal or a place to stay. 1 Peter 4:11 - Are you called to be a speaker? Then speak as though God himself were speaking through you. Are you called to help others? Do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies. Then God will be given glory in everything through Jesus Christ. All glory and power belong to him forever and ever. Amen. 👉 Hebrews 10:24 - Think of ways to encourage one another to outbursts of love and good deeds. Romans 10:9-17 - For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. As the Scriptures tell us, "Anyone who believes in him will not be disappointed." Jew and Gentile are the same in this respect. They all have the same Lord, who generously gives his riches to all who ask for them. For "Anyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." 👉 But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!" But not everyone welcomes the Good News, for Isaiah the prophet said, "Lord, who has believed our message?" 👉 Yet faith comes from HEARING this message of good news-the Good News about Christ. Jude 1:20-21 - But you, dear friends, must continue to build your lives on the foundation of your holy faith. And continue to pray as you are directed by the Holy Spirit. Live in such a way that God's love can bless you as you wait for the eternal life that our Lord Jesus Christ in his mercy is going to give you. Ephesians 2:8-10 - God saved you by his special favor when you believed. And you can't take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so that we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

GOD BLESS THESE PEOPLE! It's so beautiful to see good faith based people understanding the real need for helpful innovation to solve a huge crisis in America. My family live in MD. and we have been homeless for about three years because my wife had a stroke in 2015 and we lost everything, house, 2 vehicles and our FAITH in our government. There's very little help and trying to find help has become paralyzing. I have issues myself and our daughter is in her first year at a university near by. We PRAY to GOD all the time for a decent roof over our heads for when she comes home from college in winter and summer. The LORD has blessed us with things but we still don't have anything permanent yet. I thank GOD that I can still take care of my wife as she's bed ridden. Please PRAY for us. GOD BLESS. AMEN.

At last actual people doing something instead of just talking about endlessly! If charities actioned plans and got results a lot more people would give. I have actually worked for a totally different charity from the inside and to witness the waste of money is soul destroying. Well done !

Couldn’t have said it better. I’ve also worked at nonprofits and because of that experience I will never donate to most nonprofits. They are inefficient and there’s a lot of waste. No innovation either.

Where I live, a guy used his own money to buy several acres on the outskirts of town. He put tiny houses on the land, gave them to homeless people, and the city went in and tore it all down. 😥

The "homeless" have a purpose without being inside of a house. One purpose: convict the housed to love the unhoused because they could easily be the unhoused ones.

It's worth noting that this is for people who have been homeless for a year WITH disabilities. I'm guessing not all mental illness will qualify people. I think it's a great solution for those who have trouble getting jobs because of disabilities. It's also worth noting that many of these people should qualify for housing vouchers and long-term public assistance.
