Ive seen this effect by mistake. If it can be replicated you dont need any fancy materials. Just acrylic paint.

Love the mega crackle! I was wondering if I could color the crackle paint before use. Would the media fluid acrylics be a good option?

You can paint any acrylic over a layer of wet elmers glue for crackle.

Hi Andy could you tell me if I could get the same effect on glass?? Decoupage ... I have tried by gluing down the tissues paper then putting the cracle over the top then a contrasting color but it did not work.. HELP :):)

Hi yes you can get that effect on Glass first spray white Vinegar on glass then spray Paint let sit for minute crumble paper towel IE: brown Paper and blot randomly lightly till you like effect let dry

I have tried to use Derivan crackle medium and I didn't do a great job because it didn't come out with the effect I wanted. I wanted large cracks like this! Is one able to give the same surface a bit of a sand off and just start again with the base colour and then crackle medium and then the topcoat all over again on the same surface?

I have an outdoor metal artpiece. It has westh èrr tr ed over v time and the vibrant colors are flaking. I want to repaint and seal the paint. Ho we b do you recommend I do that?

Is there an alternative for these things? I remember something that dad used for taking off the paint from the doors, it makes the same crackles effect, something like a toner can i use that???

Hi Johnny. I don't think he answers question unfortunately :( I paint a lot of mixed media pieces and use a crackle finish. Yes, it could be done on a guitar.
