Long process to get 7.1 surround going. Should be a plug and play setup with info written into the headphones usb plug so this "activation" info is attached to the device as if a dongle if you will.

Why is no one talking about how shady it it that you have to enter an activation code to turn on a feature that the hardware is all ready capable of? You lend them to a friend? You have to give them your account. You want to sell them? Too bad for the buyer, no surround sound for them. Horrid anti-consumer tactics.

thanks for the tutorial, wasn't working at first but turns out I just needed to set the 7.1 surrounds sound as default in the windows settings.

I shouldn't have to activate the software to use surround sound. This is so dumb!

I have the razer kraken 2019 edition and when I follow all of the steps to setup the software I ran into a problem. When I have the output in the settings as said in the video as Speakers (7.1 Surround Sound) the audio on my headphones doesn't work but it does when I put it as headphones does anyone know how to fix this or is it supposed to be on headphones?

Hi razer, i have a doozy of a question to ask. I am an aspiring audiophile and i have developed a preferred EQ setting for my razer kraken x. Only after developing this EQ profile on Peace: APO i found an activation code in the box. SO now im having problems getting both The equaliser effect to apply over the 7.1 surround sound driver that is installed with the razer surround sound. The problem is that it seems to completely break my audio into a jitter, forcing me to turn off and on audio enhancements to get this working again. Any advice? Or does the razer driver perhaps emulate the current audio driver before applying the 7.1 surround sound? Im not too sure how this works hehe.

Looking for a second wireless gaming headset and i am not even considering razer products since full functionality of your products is contingent on a razor account. um i have a question, the only time i can hear something is when im using the realteck audio and when i switch to 7.1 the audio is just qutting out and i have no idea what could cause this so yeah (and i can't use the microphone on discord)

When are you going to make it work for windows 11 too? I saw many articles in your forum but there is no reply from razer. In windows 11 7.1 surround sound doesnt work even if setted up the same as on win10

can i exit the surround sound software and still use 7.1? because when the soft is on it sounds wierd and when i exit i still have the surround sound in my sound settings

You guys have messed it up. I have bought the headset before 6 years and of course I threw the box away. Now I got a new PC and can't tweak my headset. This is unacceptable, removing the old application and restricting full functionality on the headset. Update: Razer support contacted and confirm that my headset is not technically compatible with surround sound 7.1 feature. PS: yet the kraken headset is having the feature of 7.1. Nonesense

what happens if i uninstall the app and and i install it later, the code would be avalible if i activated surround before uninstall?

Having trouble with this software. Initially my issue was that "7.1 Surround Sound" wasn't appearing as a device, eventually got that working, seemed the driver hadn't actually installed properly. Now the issue is that in the Razer 7.1 Surround Sound software, the "ENABLE SURROUND SOUND" button and "OUTPUT DEVICE" dropdown menu both remain greyed out, the little yellow triangle remains visible telling me I need to select "Speakers (7.1 Surround Sound)" as the system o/p device. Pls help...

Does Synapse 3 allow you to setup the headset to hear 2.0 or 7.1 sound from specific Windows apps? Synapse 2 had this option with the Kraken 2 7.1 headset

I followed these steps and any audio that plays is stuttering multiple times to the point that 1 second of audio is taking 3-5 seconds to play and the audio is unable to be understood Edit: for anyone having the same problem, set the format of your headphones to 24 bit, 48000Hz. 7.1 surround sound is compatible with a maximum of 48000Hz

The fact that you need an activation code for this is absurd. Had to find this information to help a friend setup his new headset and was lead to this. At least now I know to NEVER ever buy a razer product, so thanks for that I guess.

So my default sound is speakers 7.1 surround. In the drop down in the software I have selected Razer Kraken X USB. I have slid the tab to show that surround is on in the razer software. Should this now be 7.1 because I’m playing Hell Let Loose and can’t hear any difference then L & R and both if something in front of me. Can’t hear shots behind etc.

It should be default with the headphones, in my case I had to reset my laptop and I had lost code so I had to go through the process of registering the product and such to get a new code.
