This is my theory, I call it "wall theory". Ever since we were young, we have been forced to study so much that we begin to create an abstract concept of study, a concept that immediately reminds us of sensations such as duty, obligation, boredom. As we grow up the whole essence of science, all the intrinsic meanings and whys of things become covered by this wall, and we can no longer see things as they really are. Until a subtle gap is created, it could be a film that fascinates you, a book or any aesthetic that attracts you, from that moment it will be necessary to break down the wall little by little until it is eliminated.

I 100% agree. As a kid I had a minor interest in astronomy, but never did anything with it till one day I saw the Big Bang Theory on TV and now I’m majoring in Physics.

How to actually ENJOY studying 1. Approach studying with all intent and curiosity. - Be like a scientist who is constantly curious in making sense of everything than just having a goal in mind to "pass this exam". Tip: Watch KZfaq videos related on the topic. Learn even outside of school and expand your knowledge beyond. Try to make sense of everything and connect all the dots rather than "remembering" everything. 2. Be actually interested. - Invest time and effort while making it enjoyable and fun. See the beauty and significance of it {subject you studying, e.g. Math, Geology} and try to connect it to real world. 3. Nobody sucks. - The belief that you suck at anything at all is not your own belief. It came from some random place and your started adopting it. Mistakes are necessary in order to learn. Mistakes are meant to teach us lessons, not to hold us back. With that... Tip: Practice before exam. Give yourself a mock quiz and answer it. Try to find your mistakes and focus on the area where you find it most difficult-- that you have a lot of mistakes at. Keep on doing practice quizzes until you find no error at all. (It's called "Active Recall") 4. You are what you believe. - If you believe you suck at Maths, you will definitely suck at Maths. Belief is what responsible in achieving things we want in life, but it can also hinder us in becoming what we truly want. For instance, if you believe that you're not good at Math, you will never be motivated to study Math at all because you think that it's "hopeless" and you're "helpless". Same thing as if we believe we can make 15k a month, that belief becomes empowering that it pushes us to actually do every process and be motivated to get that 15k per month. You cannot do something if you don't think you actually can. Belief is so powerful that it either puts us in the box or strengthens us to become what we think is greatly impossible.

It's honestly easy to get your brain to love anything. Just think about it, and show up for it a lot. It's like how regular time-spent with someone is the most accurate predictor of lasting friendship. You're making friends with your subjects! :)

I used to suck at math but at the end of high school, we had those final exams and I had to pass them. I spent a whole month studying math every day. Every waking hour. I started enjoying it more than my native language classes. Because in math, there is only one right answer. You can be right or wrong. Nothing in between. When writing essays on literature, there are tons of right answers. And yeah, I was telling myself that I such at math and physics and guess what? I did. Our thoughts and words create our reality.

Rewrite the perspective 💯👌🏽 Learning how to code rn. After learning the fundamentals of a programming language (getting the basic idea of it). i think that's also why picking a course/program you're interested in can be better than taking courses that you think that "sound" good or provide high salary despite not liking it because at least studying can be more fun because you already have that initial interest in that course that you can expand more and easier. at the end of the day, most jobs don't really care what degree you have but of course not all of them. but also, people's situations - financial, upbringings, future goals, etc. can be different leading to different college course choices

Honnestly im not that good in study, i never had a A+ in my life and im never that good at studying. Im always lazy and i don't want to study anymore, my life is really busy and i want to change things. The next year i want to go to the medical school, i have one gol in my life: became a doctor. I don't care how or when but i will became a doctor one day. I don't even know why i say all this things here. Today i will study, gracias bro.

Says it’s not about soloing it all, but proceeds to talk about which was implied to me assignments in which are not required to be collaborated on. I get joy out of soloing it out and making it difficult for myself to feel accomplished. It makes me happy compared to working with others. Of course, I do not mind looking over the work of others after completion as it is nice to see how they did on it.

I’ve had this same issue since a long time too, i got diagnosed with ADHD recently so maybe look into that and see if u have symptoms of adhd. Other than that, stuff that helped me focus better is music (esp if im doing math listening to music helps me focus - not sm for theory subjects tho) , use pomodoro techniques , pick a place thats comfortable for u but also sets u in the study mode, like dont study on ur bed , have a seperate study only space for urself so that whenever u go there u get into the study mode, same for music, have a separate study only playlist for urself so that as soon as u listen to it , u automatically go into the study mode . Also one thing w me which made it hard for me to focus was me day dreaming, like id be doing a question and then id just zone out and start talking to myself😭but then now what i do is as soon as i start day dreaming i literally pinch myself to stop and then get back to studying. Also one VERY IMPORTANT thing is to have set goals, when u have something thats motivating u and u KNOW what u want to do , studying automatically becomes so much easier. Have a small sticky note on ur wall or something and write down ur goal on it so that as soon as u start zoning out or looking here and there , u can look at the sticky note and be reminded of why u started in the first place. Also download “focus to do” its a really good app , has pomodoro timers, white noise and also has an option to restrict phone usage until the pomodoro timer ends. Hope that helps! Goodluckk

I had this thought of me being suck at math's bc my parents always said that I was.. So I am in my senior year now and I still believe in that.. This is a great vid, "It's the beliefs that are holding you back" and it is true for many ppl, including me. but once we shift our mindset, it gonna be fun and relaxing, one additional tip I would like to give is, if you don't wanna study with your classmates, yes classmates can be very toxic (not always) , you can join online study groups, that's also very helpful, or make friends who are really good at that particular subject and discuss abt it :)
