My favorite story is of a Southern California couple that won the lottery. They spent a weekend quietly moving out of their home and neighborhood. Something I notice these videos leave out is having multiple bank accounts with banks with high interest savings accounts and you can even use the interest as annual payments to relatives so that your money isn't touched and you're taking care of family members. It's a win win for everybody.

Pretend your little business is sucessfull for 3-12 months then start to support you family/friends in money issues. 9. Tell no one. 10. Treat yourself with little vacantions, TVs, Computers, Smarthphone or whatever it is you always wanted and blame it on the success of your stocks/business. 11. Start a wealthy lifestyle, but have most of your money invested in all kind of different things. I'd personally start with a car and a very little house with garden for myself so I can have a shitton of plants. From there, I'd organise everything. Time and patient is important. Organisation is a plus. Bonus step: Tell your closest friends and family: you won 10-20k instead of millions. Ps: this comment was made by an guy who's constantly broke and has no car.. Bonus ps: don't buy a lamborghini or put hundreds of thousand of dollars in your "business-idea"

This is when all your family who you haven't heard from or seen in decades pops up out of nowhere and be like "remember that time...............".

I'd just put the money in the bank and continue living the way I'm already living. I inherited some money a few years ago and so far things have been fine.

I would definitely buy more stocks and invest more on real estate, that’s where I have made some fortune over the years. I think the scariest thing about winning the big one is how aside from your own life being in for a huge change, all of your relationships with friends and family will 100% change. They will no doubt ask you for "financial assistance", but because you're a multi-millionaire, your assistance might be tens of thousands of dollars or more depending how close they are to you and it won't be an issue for you. And that much money is enough to change their lives and encourage them as well to have bad spending habits, only to ask for more; but then be offended if you decline. It's like, I know my family very well and we all have each other's back; but it's frightening to think that money is enough to change the closest of families and potentially make them fall apart.

My alcoholic uncle won $ 3 million in the lottery. Mormon missionaries came by one day; within 2 years the Mormon church had conned him out of most of it. The money wound up in Salt Lake City, Utah.

My husband and I have a plan should we ever win the lottery or come into a huge sum of money. First pay off all our debts. Second, never touch the money. We’re allowed to touch interest and dividends but never the principle. Hypothetically let’s say we win $20 million after taxes. All that money goes into recession resistant stocks, mutual funds and high interest savings accounts. I predict we will earn 2% of the money. That’s $400k. 25% will need to be reinvested back to make up for inflation. 50% will have to go to taxes. That leaves us with $100k spending money ever year forever. Not the luxury lifestyle but a great amount to live on and never work. Should we accidentally overindulge, as long as we don’t touch the principle we’ll keep getting money.

My plan is to give my brother enough to open a restaurant. He’s been running tons of different restaurants for about 20 years and does a great job of it, so I’m sure I’ll be ok.

Basically turn urself in to a "John Wick" even in 70% to provide protection for ur love ones specialy urself. Never brag about ur military/law enforcement connections, training and skills and most of all, Your money.

Number One Rule should be: Tell No One Number Two Rule: Take a lump sum, a small amount to buy some nice things, maybe a house. Set a budget, then take the rest as Annuity. If you take all in a lump sum, you lose about 25% just from the cash option. After that you will lose another 40% in taxes. If you take the annuity & stay in budget, you will enjoy your winnings for many years.

By the sounds of it, one of the best things I could do if I won the lottery is it just keep it to myself.
