Nope. The phone is easily thick enough for a headphone jack. There is a phone that is 4.75mm thick that has a headphone jack. It's the vivo x5 max

I tried it and it worked amazingly. It didn't work at first but then I put a few drops of motor oil in the hole and drilled a bit more. Now, I'm enjoying all the upgrades this baby has AND have a headphone jack, thank you sooo much.

wow man! You drilled it in the wrong side! You are really lucky that it worked! You have to drill in the side TechRax recommended. Like this you are risking a little bit because it is not the right spot (thats why some people are complaining that it didn't work). Also make sure to use a good drill for metal, NOT FOR WOOD. Many people destroyed it like this. Mine works fine, I was careful enough :)

worked brilliantly, I was cautious and used a 3mm bit... then I filed out the port so my beats jack fitted.... I think we're ppl go wrong is a 3.5mm bit can sometimes damage the hidden port..... I love my iPhone 7+ even more now 😊

Do not spread that lie, they are not water proof. They have the same IP 67 rating as the iPhone 7/7+ which means they can only stand up to 3ft of water for up to 39 minutes.
