@@kensmechanicalaffair well with that being the case it’s weird that you even commented. I play “real instruments” as well but just because you do doesn’t mean that you automatically make music that is pleasing to others ears or that somebody won’t tell you “nah man that ain’t music and it doesn’t sound good”. The point I was making that flew by you somehow is that nobody should let anyone’s opinion on their music or how they make it cause them to stop creating music.

@@dusa605 Ok captain emotional, whether or not someone likes the sound doesn't determine if it's music or not. I play instruments, therefore I'm a musician. So whether I record on a tascam, or pro-tool it's still music.
@dusa605
@dusa605 3 жыл бұрын
@@kensmechanicalaffair if I came off emotional that was my intent, I’m not mad. Lol. Yes I do understand having pride in being a musician, I often think to myself, “cool they make music but I’m an actual musician” and I’ll always respect actual musicians or Instrumentalists. I’ve been in Jazz bands where with Jazz the music and/or key can change any second, I do understand the work it takes to learn and play instruments regardless of its in a band or not. However, music is music and it doesn’t matter what any individual thinks. If it’s a song it’s music. We don’t have to agree and we don’t have argue about this. Regardless of what someone uses to make it, even if you don’t like it, to me if it’s music it’s music

Some fantastic stuff here. I'll have to try these for sure. I do have one question, though. Suppose I'm trying to make one track or the whole mix sound like it was recorded on a boom box. Would the techniques here pretty much just be the same except maybe with a little more low-end? The Abbey Road plugins emulate gear that certainty isn't a boom box so I guess that would mean my question is would the result be the same or is there definitely something different about lo-fi boom box as opposed to lo-fi vinyl/tape machine/etc.

I been trying to emulate how they did it in the studio including the chain of J 37 to Tg mastering board to the Abbey road vinyl machine, then in the post v comp and wave arts final plug, sounds pretty good. I am an amateur and I found that gain staging is the most important thing having a good mix you dont want to redline these emulators, or do you? I use mostly waves but the Toontrack Fender Rhodes piano is killer.

Nice job adding the vibe. Quick question: For Noise and Crackle, why does the dials go below zero (to the left)? At the top there is no noise, so what is negative noise? What is "-inf" crackle since there's no apparent crackle when the dial is at the top?
@spencersmallbridge1496
@spencersmallbridge1496 2 жыл бұрын
its volume, dbfs (volume scale itb) is all in the negative. 0 dbfs is clipping so -inf is no sound at all and the scale works entirely in the negative

The one thing I can't figure out is how the Beatles engineers got got certain frequencies in the opposite channel at various times. It seems like they sat an turned knobs throw the frequencies. How do you break into the stereo field of the plugins. Im sure it could be done with two mono tracks but there goes more cpu. Is it possible to sidechain one channel of a stereo plugin so it can be side chained to to throw these select frequencies with automation to the opposite side of the stereo field.
