Thank you Yogi Beer. There are some options from Coolerguys and Inkbird that have Fahrenheit, but in general these little w1209 controllers are the bottom-priced option and they're all in Celcius. You could also use a monitor like Simarine PICO, Cerbo GX or BMV-712 to set off a relay based on a temperature reading, they can all do that. On the fuse I would put 5 amps, that's my go-to for small unknown loads. That's up to 60 watts, so your fan should be good to go. Hope that helps, thanks for stopping by my channel.

@@rosslukeman Oh! I did build a battery box along the lines you laid out in the video and it works fine. Only catch is that you have to be careful about not sending current in the wrong direction through the SBP when charging or paralleling an other battery. Do you have a solution for that?

Hi Clint, yes you can use these to turn on a heating device if you put them in the "H" mode under the P0 setting. Although as you say, a lot of the heating pads have their own temperature sensor and turn themselves on and off automatically. Thanks for the question!

Hi Roy, thanks for the inquiry, if it's a replacement fan for the 12/3000 unit, then you will want to mimic the wiring of the old one, perhaps photographing the setup as you remove it. Hey there, this is a good question. The reason is that the voltage that powers a relay doesn't have to be the same as the voltage that is sent through to the appliance. For instance you can have a 12VDC relay send power to a 120VAC appliance. The control voltage is 12 volts, but the appliance doesn't necessarily run on that. If it is the same voltage, you just add a jumper wire between terminals on the relay to power the relay itself and the connected appliance from a single wire, as you described.

I’m trying to figure out how to instal a therm-switch like this to my solar charge controller which powers 12v fan. So instead of the load terminals on the charge controller powering straight to the fan. I should connect to the two terminals on the right side of the thermostat. And then put the fan red wire into the left terminal? Were does the black fan wire end up at? Jeesh I know this sounds dumb. I’m learning 😊 thank you

No I think they are just cheap. I order 2 packs and usually get at least one to not blow. I think I short-circuit them or something. One of the little modules on the board blows and you can see black where it blew out. Maybe watch how you connect them - positive, then negative, then connect your wires through the relay, and make sure they don’t touch anything or it could blow the board. It may be user error but I tend to blow them too.
