How to Add a Zipper Overlay

In this video, I will show you how to add a zipper overlay to your bag or pouch. This is a great way to give your zipper a bit of an upscale look! This can be used either for the exterior of the bag or for the lining (it works well with lining fabric attached to Shape Flex interfacing also!).

Great tutorial! I like to use Kraftex as an overlay also. I especially like the leather look color. It comes in so many colors to add a pop of color to any bag. Thank you for all you do! I learn something every time!

Thank you so much for this tutorial. I was wondering how to make these from fraying fabric 🤔 Add a seam allowance of 1/4“ to the pattern, cut two from the fabric (or 1 from fabric and 1 from wigofil), match them right sides together, sew around, cut back the seam allowance after sewing. Then draw the zipper center line, cut, turning right sides out and flip the seam allowance to the inside and press, Then install the zipper as shown. Would that work?

I asked the boss and she replied "I don't really know how best to do it in fraying fabric. It would be hard-pressed to make that application look nice, so I would probably skip it in a fabric that frays.
