In this video i will be updating this vintage 8 drawer dresser made my The Red Lion Lable Co. I remove the old veneer and paint the entire piece adding cane webbing to the drawer faces. The pulls get a fresh coat of pure gold paint and a trim piece of wood surrounding the cane. I’m super happy with the results of this piece and i hope you enjoy the process.

I absolutely love cane webbing in any format so good to see how you've achieved it on this piece. I know just by doing so much research on to trends that is definitely much more expensive to buy a pice with any came accent and especially on furniture so thanks for showing us how to achieve this look with all the specific details and great job on your first with this type of addition and transforming such an awesome look for it. Love your channel.

Not going to lie, been taking interest in furniture flipping here lately. Discovered your channel last night and may or may not have watched all your videos lol. Your quality level is really high, and the format is as well. Overall really good content man! I do have a question for ya though. A lot of the channels that do flipping go into great detail on the furniture side, but would you potentially show us how you format / setup a listing? It would be a short video that could potentially get some traffic as well. My main concern / question I've had before getting into this is whether people consider the piece "new" afterwords, or if you still mark it as used. Etc. Thank you!
@CedarPineDesigns
@CedarPineDesigns 2 жыл бұрын
Wow. Thank you so much for the compliment and support. I’m blown away with all the comments and feedback. To answer your question, if I get more interest in that side of the flipping business, I can make a video getting into more detail. But for the sake of info for yourself, I typically post a finished pieces on Craigslist and Facebook marketplace, listing as “Refurbished” in excellent condition but do make aware in my listing that there may be signs of its age due to each piece typically being vintage. It is a very satisfying and exciting hobby to get in to. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out and I can answer any questions you have.

What kind of paint are you using? You are one of the few KZfaqrs who do not use boutique chalk, mineral, fusion, clay, etc paint. I am not a fan of chalk paint. Nor do I want to wait for an order to arrive. So I am trying to learn what I can buy in a big box store: Sherwin Williams, Home Depot, Lowe's. Although you tend to stay off camera I would appreciate a tutorial in what you use and why.
@CedarPineDesigns
@CedarPineDesigns 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your interest in more info. I may do a video of what I use and why. But for now I can share with you through this comment. Chalk paint and specialty furniture paint is far to expensive and not that much different from big box brands. I use sherwin Williams and Home Depot paint. I go for interior with a satin finish built in for durability even though I top coat over my paint. I usually get the mid to upper mid grade paint with built in primer for more durability. It saves you money and time from having to order specialty paint and I’ve never had an issue with this process. My first piece was with behr premium paint and primer in one. I hope this helps and please feel free to reach out with any other questions.

Such a great video. Could you please share the dimensions of your drawer front and the width of the wooden strip/trims you used. I have a similar dresser to work on and looking for size references. Thanku

Thank you so much. I don’t have the dimensions anymore but the wood is just trim piece strips from Home Depot. I believe 1.5 inch or 2 inch wide

The dresser is amazing love it! I watch how you got the measurements for the pine trim but can you tell me what was the measurements? You stated cutting the end in 45 angle got it but what was the measurements across and down? Also what nail did you use with the compressors? Thank you
@CedarPineDesigns
@CedarPineDesigns Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for the question. You just have to measure from corner to corner and cut at the 45 degree angle. The nailer I’m using is a pin nailer and it’s hooked up to a compressor. If you have any other questions feel free to reach out.

Adding some of the paint to the top coat before spraying is an excellent idea. Can you do that also before brushing on the top coat? Or would it not be a good idea? And one more question. Should this only be done with dark colors?
@CedarPineDesigns
@CedarPineDesigns 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the comment. 1st question, it doesn’t need to be done while applying the initial coats of paint, it doesn’t hurt, but top coat is pretty costly and I would just wait until you top coat to add paint. 2nd question, typically it is for darker colors as they show the haze and streaks more, but it couldn’t hurt to add a bit of the paint to your top coat with lighter colors.

have you considered brass plating the hardwares instead of painting it? I literally costs only pennies. Once you have your plating solution you can reuse it over and over. You can use a string of pennies as the brass feed.
