How to add memory to the PSP Go

6 жыл бұрынThis video shows you how you can expand the memory of your PSP Go. I believe the 16GB that was initially included is not enough, especially if your system is modded. Materials needed are as follows:
M2 to Pro Duo adapter from kouchan1966: m2adapter.cart.fc2.com/

How did you get the Pro Duo and the Ribbon cable connected. Did you cut small sections for each of the metal teeth on the SD card with conductive Tape?

I order mine after finally getting my hands on PSP go, replace the screen added a screen protector, bought two 64gb memory cards and tmw I should have my ribbon cable. So glad I found this video few weeks ago. Those m2cards are lil pricey. Thanks for the upload my dude

If we eventually get a Micro SD Card that can house 1.5TB, with this mod you could house literally the entire PSP library on one PSP GO.

The psp/go won't handle 1tb and more , it runs slow with 256gb

Hello, I'm stuck and don't quite understand the cutting the reinforcing plate... Does that mean trimming either side so it fits snuggly onto the card terminals? Cheers!

I can definitely use this. I'll probably just use the Memory stick I used to use for my old PSP though because I find those MicroSD adapters really unreliable (though my MicroSDs might actually be the guilty party)

Bought the adapter and still have it laying around but I was not able to get it to work. I’ll buy another memory stick adapter and try again this would have been perfect to take to Mexico!

Well I bought the adapter, A pro duo adapter and a 128GB micro SD. I formatted the SD with My PSP but cant get the PSP Go to recognize the Pro Duo. Could you show the process of getting the Pro Duo and the Ribbon cable connected. I saw you said you used conductive tape on the adapter. Did you cut small sections for each of the metal teeth on the SD card?

grrrrr stuck on the first part can't seem to line up the tape to the pins on the adaptor, I have no way of knowing if the ribbon is faulty. It looks ok though I will just have to keep gig'ing it about till I get a contact.. been here a few hours and nothing

Hey everyone I have received my dummy adapter today and I prepared everything and it works when I insert my 4gb in Duo adapter but when I insert 256 gb SD card I can't seem to format the card. It s trying to format it but after few sec it says no memory stick. I did try to format the 256 gb with guiformat still no luck but I know people is using 256 gb on their psp. What am i missing here? PS I have 6.61 infinity CFW and the MS Pro Duo adapter I used is this (Doppel Micro SD zu MS Pro Duo Adapter Speicherkarte microSD zu Memory Stick für Sony PSP Camera Phone Max. 32 GB www.amazon.de/dp/B00E4MKQX6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_kmGwCbCP9W7W8) one Is it because this adapter really support only up to 32 gb?

Hello Volkan, I was having the same issue but I used Rufus 3.4.1430 to format my 128Gb card. Everything looks fine just can't load games from the Micro sd card. Not sure what the file structure should be. I made it the same as the internal disk where I can play games from but I can only see the games on the external and can't play them. Probably something simple I'm overlooking. I also used h2testw 1.4 to make sure I didn't have a fake card, which I don't. Hopefully you can make it where I'm at and we can figure this out to the end as I feel like I'm almost there. Hope this helps or if you figured it out please help. Thanks!

you need to format your micro sd card to fat32 or the psp wont recognize it. you usually need a certain software to format higher capacity cards to fat32. theres plenty of videos on how to do this.

SD card by itself will not work. The memory card slot on the PSP Go will not accept it without this adapter.

Damn all I have is 3 micro sd and a SanDisk adapter for a pc... I wish I could just mod the adapter to fit in my psp go or use tooth picks in the sd card slot to hold a mini sd :(

I'm having an issue with getting the system to register the cable, do you have any tips? I use the conductive tape but the only time it registers is if I apply pressure. I've tried several cards and ordered more tape but I'm starting to think I got a faulty cable?

Jae Blaze yeah the removed all the plastic tabs/teeth. The memory card works in a PSP 1000 so I know the adapter is good.

I had to slide the cable around on the adaptor pins while it was connected to the PSP. When I saw the memory card pop up in the menu that's where I found the sweet spot. It takes some manuevering around to find it.

Serjio Blockus yeah, if you install custom firmware this is a great device, no need for the store. But this mod is kinda a necessity because 16GB is not enough for all the great games this console had.

you need to plug the micro sd card into a PC and first format it to Fat32

Windows 10 doesn't format to fat32 anymore so you'll need to download a program that let's you do it. I use Minitool partition Wizard (you can download a free version rather than a demo version somewhere on their website)

$59 for 16GB M2 plus any size down from 16GB (New) from www.memoryx.com/mestmi.html (Scroll down all the way to see your options). Just ordered mine. For those who don't want to hard mod their psp and don't need more than what your psp go's internal memory has plus whatever size card you order from the link above. I don't need all the space so I'm fine with paying $59 for a 16GB as new which would total 32GB with my particular psp go system

I was asking my self the same question. But then i compared the m2 card with a micro sd, theyre almost the same size! The micro sd is like 1mm thinner and 1mm shorter. So in my opinion thats why theres no m2 to micro sd adapter, a size issue and not a technological issue..

Well I spent a bunch of money on this. I'll admit, I got scammed. I tried it every which way and this adapter doesn't work. Save your money, Maybe someday We will get an adapter that Has the Pro stick Duo on the other end until then My PSP will be 16GB.

I would get the 16 GB M2 memory stick and install it into the PSP Go instead of modding it.

But 16GB is the max capacity you are going to get then, this allows you to use MicroSD instead, which now goes up to 512GB currently
