You can also check glass gap by laying it on its side and gently tilting it to move the air bubble around. Compare bubble diameter when in the middle to the sides. Bigger bubble in the middle means smaller gap, so add water. Just tried it and it was a good indicator.

The KB collection sand art is sand, air and water. The sand is heavy and wants to settle at the bottom. Air rises to the top and wants to escape. Water hosts the party. When you turn the sand art over, your sole job is to get the bubbles to go all the way across to create an air barrier that holds up the sand. The sand then finds the weakest link in the bubbles to fall to create the mountains, valleys and dunes. Best of all, with the included injector, you can adjust the amount of air in your sand art. Less air means faster falling sands. More air means slower flows. Watch the video "How to adjust the air in your sand picture" on KZfaq. And wall all of the tutorial videos on the Knowledge Center of our website www.movingsandart.com.

Question. My sand art (I have the Diamond Ring movie-Medium sized), it acts like I have too much air, but checking with my gauge, it's right in the mark. I get some huge bubbles. And sometimes it takes forever to flow. Suggestions?

Tonya, Sometimes the air scale isn't quite up to the liking each individual would prefer. It sounds like you may want a little less air in your sand picture for a quicker flow to your sand picuture. Please note they are not the same as the KB collection sand art (Austria). I cannot tell you what gauge of needle they recommend but we recommend at size 27 gauge needle. @@melissahulon1907 I understand the question, Melissa. Again, it is impossible. Our KB collection sand art is made in Austria and shipped to us in Colorado for distribution in the USA. I suppose it would be possible to remove the frame, remove the sealant at one point, add some sand, add more silicone to seal the sand art, reattach the frame ... but I would not recommend doing this. Our sand art is handmade so it is not 100% the same with every sand picture but it should take up about 48% of your sand picture.

Hello Jennifer, Depending on how long you have owned your sand pictures for they may be thirsty. The sand pictures need water or our soap refill added every 9 months to a year. The video you are commenting on shows you how to add water or even test the pressure. The sand picture you describe as small sudsy bubbles sound like you may have a leak in your seal. Do not worry we have a fix for that: movingsandart.com/collections/sand-art-accessories-stands/products/sealant-repair-kit-for-kb-collection-sand-art Hope this helps!!

How do you create the mountain peaks?
@chriswootten9094
@chriswootten9094 Жыл бұрын
When you turn over the sand art, the individual must get the bubbles to go all the way across to make an air barrier. Sometimes, it happens by itself. Personally, it is worth the extra tiny effort to help the bubbles to go to both sides. You can manipulate the air bubbles by picking up one side of the other to move to where they need to go.

With the KB collection sand art, we make mountains, valley and dunes. Of course, that assumes you turn the sand art over so the bubbles go all the way across to create an air barrier. @@Lloyd.B. That is what happens, Lloyd. Once the bubbles break, the sand fills in the valleys and completes the cycle of the falling sand. Once the cycle is complete, turn it over and start again. And again. And again. Each turn will be uniquely different as the bubbles will not cooperate the same way twice.

Hi Mubbix, There have always been different takes on sand art. The KB collection sand art has air holes so the user can adjust the air. If your sand art does not have such air holes, you have (unfortunately) disposable art. If there is no way to adjust the air, sorry, you cannot assist your sand art. Right now, there is a lot of cheap Chinese knockoffs on the market and I feel sorry for those consumers. Buy with caution. Buy the KB collection sand art (www.MovingSandArt.com).

@chriswootten9094
@chriswootten9094 2 жыл бұрын
Micro bubbles. This would happen if the art is shaken. Usually, those bubbles break up after 24 hours and go back to their normal size. You can run the bubbles over and back over each other. This will help to break up the bubbles. You can also try to remove as much air as you can with the injector and then replace it with new air.

A sandpicture primarily breaks for one of two reasons -- and they are the same: Pressure. If you remove air continuously with never replenishing any of the evaporated water (we recommend spring water), the panes of glass can pinch inward and possibly break. It is also possible to add too much water (think water balloon) and have the panes of glass break outward due to too much pressure.

Hello Helen, There are two enemies of sand art -- and they are the same. Pressure. If you only remove air, remove air, remove air without replenishing any of the evaporated water, the panes of glass can pinch inward and crack. And the opposite is also true. If we add too much water, the panes of glass can break outward. Near the end of this video is a key written paragraph that tells you when you have added the right amount of water from a scientific perspective. This might be the most important part of the video as the eye cannot know when we have added water if we have added the right amount.
