Thank you Sarah and Frank! Sarah and her team helped me and my daughter move here in May, no matter how much international travel we've done in our lives, it was still a big adjustment. I'd say pace yourself, expect some bumps in the road, it will get better, practice gratitude for all the small victories, and as each month passes you'll feel more settled. I'm still not sure how long we will stay, but it's a good experience in life to take leaps of faith and try, trust that if you were inspired to make such a radical move, there MUST be something in it for you! 😊

Truly helpful video on common feelings that show up for expats and anyone adjusting to a different situation. There is a loss of the life we previously knew and it is reasonable to expect to grieve that loss, even if it wasn’t the most healthy lifestyle, it’s still a loss. Then there is a tremendous amount to gain in terms of health, longevity, learning, nature etc…but it takes an adjustment to really let those benefits sink in. Nostalgia is real and it can be very painful. I have so much admiration for Frank, Sarah and all the expats who are able to let go, learn, grow, adapt, change. None of that is easy. Weather you are feeling happy or sad in any given moment you are a role model for others. Weather you stay settled in CR forever or just for a period of time, you are a role model. Thank you for sharing your honest experiences.

Good to hear Frank’s perspective on his decision to move to CR and the adjustment on living here, and the mental side of living here. He’s adjusting well and having you and seeking the knowledge of others that have moved and live in CR, is invaluable. Stay with it, is the best advice. We all come from different life experiences, have different expectations, perspectives, wants and needs, no one size fits all when you move to another country, realize that going in. Embrace the change.

Thanks for sharing- this is an important topic! I just moved here 2 months ago and definitely thought, “ oh my gosh, what have I done? What if this isnt my place and I just got rid of everything?” So, I’d look at my view and remind myself why I decided to make the move, I established my morning routine which is a little different and added in things I enjoyed like walking, and giving yourself time and grace and a few creature comforts ( like nice sheets 😉 ) that make you feel at home. Thanks for all your videos and advice! CR is a beautiful place to be!

It takes time to adapt. Also deciding what you want to focus on here and what kind of people you want in your life. Curious, where did Frank move to?
