Great video. We were actually on the trail and found that my friends 112 was running like crap . I looked videos on the trail for him and came across this. You saved the day, after the video I had it running 90 percent better. In our case the air screw was way too far in . Only 1/2 turn out. You’re my hero . Thank you 🙏. Im also curious to see what number idle speed you feel is appropriate. Based on what I heard in the video, I’m thinking around.1400-1500 rpm? This is just based off of my bike that has a tachometer but a fuel injected 2T

Thanks for this video got the daughters 2003 kx85 running sweat now. Air screw was screwed all the way in. How do i know of its to lean.

2 strokes generally leak some oil both around where the pipe connects to the engine and where the muffler attaches to the pipe. Are you talking about leaking oil from one of those spots, or like there is an actual bad exhaust leak? @@MRMechanicRC ok I’m used to 4 strokes it’s right where the pipe connects to my muffler Im gonna repack the silencer and that should help

Yeah that’ll probably help, but there also should be a little rubber seal in between the muffler and the pipe (there usually is) and that could be bad as well if the leak is really bad

I got my idle right but when I hit the gas, it goes up but then takes a few second to come down. Any thoughts?

Hanging idle means you are too lean. You need to go richer on air screw (turn in/clockwise on a two stroke carb) or change to a larger pilot and then play with air screw again.

I can’t remember. I might’ve mentioned it sometime in the video. It was probably somewhere around 1 1/2 and 2 turns, but unfortunately I sold that bike a couple months ago. Was a very fun little bike though.

2 turns out on most bikes is a good starting point 👍🏼usually cards are from 1 1/2 to 2 1/2

Yep, too many turns in/out and you need you re-jet
