How to Adjust the rangefinder in Konica Hexar RF

Күн бұрынYou can begin with setting the lens to 2 meter, and make the adjustment of the rangefinder both vertical and horizontal..., then set the lens to 10 meter and make finer adjustment, and to the last you set the lens to infinity and make the last adjustment

Followed the instructions and struggled a bit since previous owner stripped the wheel and added a glue/wax. I was successful using a small wrench similar to the ones that come in ikea furniture. Same process just different tool! Thanks so much for making this video 🫡. Be sure to wipe all of the glass!

Thank you so much for upload this video. Even though my Konica works just fine. But I do believe that this video could help people who want to fix their Konica RF. I rarely see people upload this kind of professional camera repair videos in details throughout the years. Appreciate your work!

Thanks so much 👍I had back focus problem and thanks to you I fixed my self, but without removing the cover. I just used my leica m7 and cron 50, which is spot on and I adjusted at object 5m away. I compared to m7 and now rangefinder is spot on like on m7 💪👏

Just did this on my RF - Didnt bother taking the top cover off - I just popped the plastic cover off the top with a modified plastic tool that I got from an Iphone repair kit. Only small tweaks are needed!

Rangefinder mostly targeted to casual street user. But this definitly not for casual. Far more complex than slr style

Perfect and precise description. It was extremly helpful to overcome my fear of lifting the top. I have another problem, which might have been occured with your camera as well. That's why I dare to ask if a small part behind the rangefinder mirror windows is moveable at your camera as well?

esta muy bien pero la distancia de registro de tu lupa pantalla ha de ser apoyada en los raíles internos no los extremos pues están a diferente distancia en esa cámara y en la mayoría de ellas

Carefully swab some alcohol on the wax to loosen it up

Hey there! @mikemo62 I had a question about threadlocker vs contact glue. I want to better secure the horizontal alignment screw in my Hexar RF but Im worried that if I lock the screw with contact glue, it will be dificult to re-adjust later. Would threadlocker work best here? Also would just a drop of threadlocker on the top of the screw be enough, or should I wiggle the screw back and forth to work the threadlocker into the threads?

Hello! I was able to open it up and turn the cog, but the vertical alignment of the patch is still much too low. It doesn’t seem to matter how far I turn the wheel. Any suggestions?

Kenneth, it would be great if you could demonstrate how to open the 'access hatch' on the top plate (in front of the hot shoe) for direct access to the adjustment screw and cog (dented wheel you call) without having to remove so many parts every time an adjustment is called for. At timeline @, You seem to be saying that you can in fact adjust from the top once that little cover is removed. Why worry about cosmetic blemishes on this defunct model? Better to have a properly working instrument, no? Would appreciate to hear your thoughts.

Sorry I don't have the camera anymore, but you should be able to take off the cover for the flash shoe, and in that way have direct view to the cogwheel, and with a little screw driver GENTLY adjust the rangefinder.

Can you tell me if this camera is reliable? All guy are talking about dying electronic in cameras of the 2000th. How can it last longer?

i did manage to adjust the rangefinder of my Hexar RF. but that was just horizontaly. now i have one that is wrong in both sides. but i cant manage to turn the wheel its just stuck and with the screwdriver i just damaging the wheel. is there another method to do it or a special tool maybe?

I have this same problem, i have followed the instructions here perfectly but my verical alignment wheel is stuck, it doesn't spin around like on the video, it's as though it is glued or something? Is there a way or a technique to add some kind of solvent or something to unstick it?

@@mmarsbarr you can add isoprophanol or if this does not work, try a tiny bit of aceton. but be carefull. but it is a really messy and bad design by itself so be very very careful not to damage the wheel.

I've worked on Big Mini's. Their shutter buttons are the same as the Konica Hexar AF and always suffer from corrosion. You can disassemble the button mechanism and clean it with contact cleaner. So yes, they are repairable.
