hot water and a towel and an iron. dip the towel in the hot water lay it on the wood area that is dented and put the iron on it for a minute at a time, sand and repeat if necessary, for removing most dents and mares . works great.

Thank you brother I picked up a set of different pieces that are probably all from different parents from a gunshop on my way home. Some were finished some were unfinished unmatching colors and all that, but they all fit in my gun. Now I can make them a matching family!

Thank you for the great video and instruction. Starting the guards on my Z85. The way they came from Zastava is insane. They must have a 2 year old in a high chair that just slings black paint on them and calls it good.

As a guy that works in Home building / custom construction, that is generally one of the ways you can apply stain! You should’ve applied 3-4 coats of stain though to make a nice rich color Edit: just watched through the part where you did add more coats :)

Hey man, I really appreciate this video, since I just got me a Romanian WASR 10/63 and the stock is pretty hideous. Just one thing I'd recommend, as it would've saved me a little time. A list of all the tools, finish, and material you used such as the tung oil and sand paper grit, etc. would've been wonderful! Not complaining though, very informative video and again, much appreciated!

The good part about the Romanian WASR wood is that it's all pretty new and isn't soaked with decades of oil and other crap so aside from getting absolutely raw wood from a place like Ironwood they really make some of the best beginner refinishing project sets.

I’m thinking of either the darkest brown stain I can find, or possibly even black stain. Not too sure I want to finish with rung oil, I may buy some high gloss finish and just go that route for finishing and protecting the stock. What do you think?

warning on tung oil, it WILL make sensitive skin swell up, even a week after its final coat is applied. my tung oil didnt fully dry for a solid month. so i beg yall, WASH YOUR HAND THROUGHLY after you use the tung oil and dont go to the bathroom till then.

All this work and not patient enough to show finished rifle with wood assembled? Sigh. I just got an NPAP M70 underfolder with really nice forend furniture (teak they claim) with very raw finish....likely mostly cosmoline? Anyway....considering refinishing with new stain.....something in the charcoal color range. I want shades of black and gray though wood now shows very little grain....almost flat color which is typical of teak.....so am not sure how my refinish stain would work. I saw an AK with black stained furniture at a local gun show years ago and it was cool enough to stay with me. Though the stain was black, it brought out grain where darkest lines were virtually black and lighter grain grayish black with intermediate grans varying, but really sharp looking rifle.

If anyone is concerned about assault rifles being banned in there state and need info let me know. I can pretty much fill you in on the details since they used my state as a guinea pig for there sick gun ban crap. I live in Connecticut we went from being a state like your own with gun freedom to recently having assault rifles banned over night. I'm sure it would be a similar ban that they would be pushing for in your state so let me know and I can fill you in.
@lesdeb77258 жыл бұрын
didnt know u could own full autos in CT. that's an assault rifle
@Tain9508 жыл бұрын
Les Deb I was being sarcastic when I said the word " assault Rifle". The media constantly calls are semi auto rifles "assault rifles" to make it sound more dramatic and violent. It’s a way to demonize something for a political agenda and misconstrue [the guns] and the public on the Second Amendment.

i agree out mental health care needs to be addressed, but people have had guns taken away just for getting help for insomnia..... and the govt can label any one mentally unable to have a firearm and bam you have a back door ban AND ITS ALREADY HAPPENED

random atheist and to mention, many people get 72 hour or week long observations and doctors will involuntary commit that patient just so their bill is picked up by the state and the patient won't have to pay anything.
