A large gift bag like that reminds me of msking textbook covers from brown paper bags for school. Those are removable though. And you can doodle on them and use stickers

My school did not allow us to put stickers or doodle on them. We only had to write our name, grade, and subject of the textbook neatly in a corner. We also got into trouble if any of our books did not have the cover. I don't think I even remember now how I used to make them!

@@utterlycynthia that's ridiculous!! It's your paper bag and your efforts. You can doodle all over it and flip it over and it'll be clean again. They're really easy to make. Paper bag that is taller and wider than the book by several inches. Fold it down to get the same height as the book. Then fold over the back flap. Tuck the back cover into the slot. Make sure the book can close before folding the front end over the cover. Slip the front book cover into the paper bag cover. I had more practice when my kids were small. In college I purchased a clear plastic cover for my collected works of Shakespeare. It has fused to the book cover

I really liked your commentary, as well as the overall project! So many little tips. The green string looks perfect with the red and green plaid tape. I so appreciated the tips for stopping the metal ruler from sliding. Simple fixes that I never even thought of! (Said with accompanying head slap!) Thanks

Hi, I found your channel by accident, and sooo glad I did! I do journal and plan. I use a lot of stickers, too. Decorating a composition notebook for Christmas planning (***or wedding planning, or any major event***) is a super fantastic idea. I think I will use scrapbook paper on both sides of the covers, as i have more of that. Thanks!

I love picking up gift bags from the dollar store. I have been using them for covering all the things, but mosting a planner covers and dividers. I love the wedding ones for making planners as gifts for new brides to be. And for more guy centered themes pr more professional looking color combinations

What a fun video! I love watching your crafty thought process come to life. I'm looking very forward to seeing what else you add to it. I am pretty sure that I have that same exact gift bag with the car on it. I am going to have to track it down and craft with it somehow. 😊When I bought it I remember thinking that it would be pretty in a frame with fairy lights behind it. But I love it on the back cover of your journal! The gift bags look nice and smooth on the covers, and like they will hold up really well.

I love this notebook!! It's so perfect!!! Another small thing you could do is to punch a hole near the top binding and insert one of the ribbon handles to use for a page marker!!! Or if the book will be used by a child use the bag handles on the covers of the notebook for handles!! Just a thought!!! Thank you!!

Oh you could have taken the Christmas bulb tag and glued the ribbon to the center area and it could be used as a page marker.Kinda like an attached book mark.

I just did a short on a composition notebook that I did with some dolls, it was a tad crooked and I couldn’t move it (double sided tape) but I’m the only one that’s going to use it so. ❤

Try a sanding block to round you corners???? Then maybe ink???

Check your dollar stores and the back to school section of all the stores for monthly planner only that you can cut the pages out of.

If it was in a big clear bottle, it was FabrIac. If it had a metal tip, it was Art Glitter Glue.

@@scrapcraftastic no look like a white bottle with some pink around near the top of the bottle and near the bottom of the bottle.. I think it was the art glitter glue with a metal tip

I LOVE how this is turning out! I think I have that bag with the snowman family! Question: Why did you use Fabric-tac on the inside? Was it because the insides don't have the glossy texture of the outside? In my LONG crafting life....I have never used Fabri-tac (I clearly need to go back and look at your adhesives video!!). BTW, I think the green eyelets and twine are perfect with all of the red...great choice! 👍

I use the fabri tac on all my comp junk journals

Thank you! I used the tape on the outside because that area gets the most wear and tear, and i want to be sure every inch, including edges stick. The inside is usually closed, so that automatically helps to keep the covering in place. So I'm not as worried about it lifting around the edges.
