Answering what is your greatest weakness is difficult for many students, but the reality is, this is a question that is likely to come up during your medical school interview. If not this exact question, then something similar such as "what is your biggest failure" "What are your weaknesses" or "Tell me about a time you failed". Nobody likes to talk about their shortcomings, but this is a question where you’ll have to do just that, so how can you answer "what is your greatest weakness?" appropriately in a way that demonstrates maturity and self-reflection?

Thank you for the video. I have an upcoming interview. I noticed you distanced yourself from the weakness, speaking on a specific failure in the past. Isn’t the question pertaining to more of a character trait?

Hey Brett! Thanks for your comment. It's a great strategy to use an example of a weakness to demonstrate it. So instead of just naming the quality, you showcase how it was exhibited and what you did to overcome it/fix it. It's more visual and clear this way. Hope this helps!
