tbh i literally buy glitter and confetti polish FOR the scattered look bc it's low maintenance. chipping is barely noticeable, easy to update, and yet my nails still have a little something on

Yes! :D I'm watching quite a few lately though I never paint my nails. I like my nails short, too. It is so annoying and uncomfortable if they are longer! I will never understand girls that like to have long nails. Your hands become useless.

Hi! To answer you on the long nails case, mine are usually quite long, I let them grow without thinking about it and trim them only when they break. I hate feeling things with the very top of my fingertips, it's like too sensitive and long nails are actually helpful' for a lot of stuff : parting your hair, scrubbing something, gentle massage, cleansing a dust in your eyes... and of course self defense! ;) the point is long nails are (really)comfy to some people they don't necessarilly are fashion constristricted.

Paint a clear coat, wait till it is kinda tacky, and then rub the glitter in with your finger. If it's holo, if not just dump.

I watched this video a year ago and have used this technique on so many different styles. Most recently, I used the same sponge to add "snow" to my nails for a little snowman art. I used it for super glittery new years party nails and to get a nice even, sheer coat of color on top of a design. Endless uses.

Mind blown!!! I've been applying glitter nail polish the "wrong way", and I always had to apply 2-3 coats. I can't believe it's that easy to get ultra glittery nails with 1 coat. Soo glad I stumbled upon this!!!

Hayden, holo means that the glitter has a rainbow effect - so yes, it is holo :)

The right way to do this is the way u like it.some people like the light glittery look vs the heavy look. It's all personal preference not right or wrong.

Tried this the first time today. I always knew how to do it "right" but was too lazy. I used wood glue for it and wow, I'm so impressed!😍 it looks 100 times better than painting the nail polish on❤️

Eh, depends on what you're trying to achieve with the glitter. If I've got tip wear but need to get another day or two before I have time to do a complete polish change then a quick swipe over the tip is entirely fine. It doesn't need to be anywhere close to complete coverage. I'm just looking for the glitter to disguise the tip wear by covering some of it and by providing a pattern that makes wear less obvious.

SO glad I came across this video! Will definitely have to try this out, because I am so sick and tired having a gloppy accent glitter nail because of how many coats I have to apply to get full coverage.

Ooohhh ok this would be cute for a glitter accent nail. Typically i can achieve this look with gel polish and actual glitter, so im glad to see you can also do this with laquaer nail polish.

If that's the intended look why not use the base coat before it dries followed with Glitter shaker (Fine milled to preferred size) sprinkled over the tacky polish? It's cheaper & the Glitter can be recycled. If one uses a collection paper under the hand to catch the fallout.

I do that all the time and it looks great. It's like $6 for 12 or more awesome colors at walmart. So much cheaper this way. Do base coat, sprinkle glitter, top coat. It's very nice.

Because it's time consuming and not all glitter is compatible with clear nail polish it can alter the way the glitter looks on your nails especially when it dries.

Thank you so much for this video! I like the way you explained why it worked! When I understand things it just feels a lot better to follow the instructions I don't have a lot of energy because of my disability, so when I do my nails I do them with glitter polish but I do it the wrong way, and that way when it chips off it's way less noticeable because there wasn't full coverage anyway. So I get a lot more mileage out of my nail polish. But yeah I don't go out and nobody else is seeing my nails, so doing it wrong is just for me, if I were going out or something I would definitely want to do it the right way

Honestly sometimes I like a subtle glitter look, and in that case I think applying it normally (aka "wrong") is just fine too haha! It's just up to what you're in the mood to have on your nails :)
