We do one coat in Western Australia. Saves time and still gets a beut finish. Any reason for the scratch coat?

Thanks for the video! I have breeze block internal walls in my garage is render ok if I only do one coat? Is the scratch coat necessary for me? And if yes which mix do you recommend if just the one coat

Nice video as always Blaine, can you or anyone else explain why you go right to left when rendering if right handed but left to right if right handed when plastering? The small amount of rendering I've done I go left to right.

Usually to make sure wall is flat one needs to install directors or so called "beacons" which is one more step in preparation but it makes it very very easy to make the wall flat plumb, this technique widely used on a construction site in eastern Europe and Russia. Here is the Video on how to install beacons. 4:1 for the scratch and 5:1 for the top matey

1st coat 1 to 4 cement ,sand 2nd coat 1 to 5 with some lime or plsaticizer. Thank you!

Do not use building sand. Always use plastering sand.

There called cables. Lol... Sparks need to leave our cables out because if we tuck them in you mongs fill the boxes in so we have to smash our cables out so you come back and get extras at our expense. Were not stupid. Clean your boxes out and we'll tuck our cables in all day it's better for us... But you dont. So we don't.
