Are you trying to connect the blueprint to the new style raft or the old style raft? It won’t connect to the new raft, you have to turn on “allowoldraft” option in ValheimRAFT config, then place the old style raft down and attach the ship to it (without stepping on the raft or you’ll CTD), then type “vehicle UpgradeShipToV2” in the console (you’ll know it worked if you see the new raft plop down to the water). Leave the session and come back and your ship is now upgraded and attached to the new raft. Be forewarned that at the moment it’ll have a permanent starboard list so anything you place on it will be ever so slightly off. It’s a super annoying process and I won’t be updating these videos anymore every time the ValheimRAFT guy adds these new featured that mess up the mod. Glad it’s still being maintained, but I just miss the OG ValheimRAFT that Sarcenzzz made. It was simpler and didn’t have all these confusing config options

@@ianmcmanus9175 I'm using the old raft but the ship just will not connect to it when I paste the blueprint in. I'm not sure why and as far as CTDs that doesn't happen to me. I know because I've attempted to make this work probably 100 times now doing every thing I can think of even stuff you said not to do just to check if somethings different for me for some reason. anyway its an amazing work of art you've made thanks for sharing it with us all. and if I figure out what I'm doing wrong I'll post it to help the next person who gets stuck with the same problem I'm having.

Can you verify what version of ValheimRAFT Continued you are using? Should be 2.1.1. If you can still walk around on the old style raft without CTD then something isn't right. Are there new build pieces including a new "V2 raft" in your build menu?

​@@ianmcmanus9175yes ValheimRAFT 2.1.1 odd thing I got it to work just now for a very short time but at some point in the rigging process the ship turned back into a static object not sure why still working on figuring it out

Try changing the following propulsion settings to these numbers in the config: MaxPercentage: 33 MaxSailSpeed: 25 SailCustomAreaTier1Multiplier: 1 SailTier1Area: 5 SailTier2Area: 10 SailTier3Area: 20 SpeedCapMultiplier: 2 That's what I have mine set at and I'm cruising mostly normally. Zolantris posted similar numbers on the comment thread for ValheimRAFT Continued, I just altered them slightly.

also when i try to upgade to "vehicle upgradeShipToV2" it says that there is no lv1 ship detected, and when i reconnect the raft is in the water and the havulv still floating. So it seems that the boat and ship are not connected by why ... i don't know

Hi there and thank you very much! Hmm are you trying to connect to the new raft base? The 2.0 raft base looks like a big polygon wood block and the blueprint wont attach to it, it’ll just fall apart. You have to turn on "AllowOldV1RaftRecipe" in ValheimRAFT config settings (F1 with Configuration Manager) and then restart valheim and choose the old style raft and place it in the water (it looks exactly like the one in this video) and then you can connect the blueprint to it. After it’s connected enter "vehicle upgradeShipToV2” into the console and it’ll convert your ship to the new raft 2.0. Then you can follow the video from there. Sorry, I would’ve updated this video with the new instructions but the new ValheimRAFT guy keeps changing things and it takes too long to reupload a new video every time lol

To be fair it does say on the Nexus page that the ship is extremely detailed and not every one will be able to play with it

Are you using a mod manager like Vortex?

@@k4tfjprojects296 You should only have to do that if you're using PlanBuild to spawn the ship in your own world. The sails should be there if you're just adding the world files to your game (in theory anyway). I downloaded the world files and added them to my own game to test it and the sails were there when I entered the world

Huh yeah I turned Better Creative off in my own game and got the same issue. This is a new problem native to Zolantris’s ValRAFT Continued. I swapped his mod out for Sarcen’s OG ValRAFT and was able to turn off Better Creative without issue. For now you’ll have to either downgrade to Sarcen’s version or keep Better Creative installed with all prefabs on. I’ll see if I can figure out a solution in the meantime

Yeah same issues here, benefit of the doubt I assume these ship mods need an update after ValheimRAFT - Continued got a 2.0 update and Valheim got Ashlands update both

@stuys69 if I had to guess the ships 90% made of base game building material so I assume it's compat with updates but the stability of either the new raft or with game stability changes may just be the culprit

Sounds like something isn’t installed properly. Do you have Jotunn installed as well? It’s a requirement for ValheimRAFT. Also check the install directory. The ValheimRAFT directory should look like “Valheim/BepInEx/plugins/ValheimRAFT.” The mod isn’t packed properly and doesn’t have the root “ValheimRAFT” folder in it so you have to add it manually

I dont know the first step to adding it manually, is there any way it can be explained or can you put the mod into thunderstore, been testing new approaches to how i mod and maybe adding it into thunderstore would make it a bit easier to access

I didn’t make ValheimRAFT so I wouldn’t be able to add it to thunderstore but I think ValheimRAFT Continued is already on thunderstore. My mod is just a ship that you can add on top of a ValheimRAFT and it won’t work with any mod managers. You have to create a new empty folder called “ValheimRAFT” and then open up your Valheim install directory and go to Valheim/BepInEx/plugins/ and drop the ValheimRAFT folder that you just created in the /plugins directory. Once it’s in there, download ValheimRAFT Continued and make sure that the contents of the mod get extracted into that ValheimRAFT folder. Also download Jotunn from either Nexus or Thunderstore because ValheimRAFT won’t work without it

You just have to destroy the anchor point the rope originates from and it’ll disappear. Sometimes the rope lingers and you may need to leave the session and come back to make it go away

Look, my dude, I’m sorry you’re having issues but it’s really not that complicated. You can use a mod manager to install literally everything except for the files I have uploaded for my ship, which are not mod manager friendly. BepInEx I can’t add to a mod pack because it’s the base for literally every mod, so you’re on your own on that one but it’s not very difficult to install, you really just drop the files into your Valheim install directory. After that, literally every mod you need to install gets dropped into Valheim/BepInEx/plugins. That’s it. Valheim is actually one of the easiest games to mod without a mod manager. I’m assuming you’re trying to attempt to use PlanBuild to add the blueprint to your world, which is a complicated process that no mod pack can do for you. If you really want the ship without all the hassle just drop the world files into the exact location I said to drop them on the Nexus page. Otherwise, you’ll have to follow each mods install instructions on their respective pages because I didn’t make any of them. It’s up to the player to figure out how to install them. I can’t even help people with ValheimRAFT related issues because I am in no way affiliated with ValheimRAFT. I literally just built a ship shell to attach to it and that’s about the extent of my knowledge regarding ValheimRAFT or Valheim mods. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

Zolantris’s ValheimRAFT used speed and weight calculations by default. I think theres options to turn them off in the config. These sail settings should give you a relatively normal sailing speed once all the sails are on: MaxPercentage: 33 MaxSailSpeed: 25 SailCustomAreaTier1Multiplier: 1 SailTier1Area: 5 SailTier2Area: 10 SailTier3Area: 20 SpeedCapMultiplier: 2

Can you explain your issue in more detail? I was just on Valheim earlier today and mine is still working fine minus the ropes disappearing which is a known issue with ValheimRAFT

@@ianmcmanus9175 We cannot get any menus or build options to show up. We had the server owner come and try to help. He;s an IT guy and the best person I know with mods. He siad he tried everything he could and cant figure out why its not running. So you r using it RN? damn. Ill let him know.
