I want to request a "how to use siege for beginners" tutorial. I'm always afraid of using siege (we except trebs) because in my head, siege hurts more than helps. Would like to know use cases for mangonels, scorpions, bombard canons and how to use them effectively with micro.

At some point it's difficult to actually have a clip for what I'm talking about as I'd have to just happen to play a game with that situation recently. Any of the clips that weren't from actual games were just mocked up in the scenario editor, which was about half of them. Real clips are obviously much better, but real games don't always play out in the most optimal way, so it's difficult to show what I'm talking about in a less controlled environment.

@@SurvivalistAoE yes, totally understand that! i mean the editor clips are also kinda cool, often i dont understand what im looking at, and then you finish the sentence and it suddenly makes sense 11

@@SuperVogli Sometimes it feels like writing a book would be easier. Making a video means you have to say it AND show it and it can be tough :D

As a suggestion for a future video. It would be nice to know under which circumstances you should consider going imp over building more units. That's also an interesting question for going to castle age because newbies like me are often stuck in feudal or castle age and going up way to late. So the video could be like when to click up for the next age or something

@@smaruhmaruh6955 I felt like I definitely didn't go super in depth for some things. Like, I presented my conclusion without explaining too much. It's tough to balance the correct amount of information as sometimes it's too much. My editing skills are coming along. Each video I make I feel like I learn a new trick :)

I am 600 elo and trying to improve What do you think the best thing to learn is? I do hotkeys, archer micro and build orders. What do you think is next?

​@@yvangaming4063 Keeping the TC running at all times. If you want to improve, then keeping villager/house production is something that needs to become automatic. I'd say ignore your opponent and just focus on your own macro. If you can do this, then 1000+ is basically free. Instead of thinking about strategy, think about macro until you don't have to think about macro anymore (it's automatic). It's the same concept for learning hotkeys. You'll have surely gotten to the point where you don't have to think about some of your hotkeys. Eventually you won't have to think about queuing villagers, which will free up your brain to think about micro/strategy.

@@yvangaming4063 if you want to improve, another trick is to master your build orders on fast speed vs extreme ai (maybe for you hard ai). You will become really fast and make sur to be on point with the macro

@@yvangaming4063 at 600 elo you should just focus on maintaining villager production and ensuring you spend your resources (don't bank them up) Also when you make an army, have an idea of what you plan to use it for. Leaving it standing around is a waste of the investment. This doesn't mean, don't make an army, but you should use scouting to inform you of the type of army to make and what to do with it when you have made it. At 600 elo however, you won't be able to do all of this, but if you make a start now you will fin that you will be better later on than someone who just learns one build mechanically and doesn't understand why it works. If i was you, and just wanted to beat a fellow 600 elo-er i would just learn franks 20pop scouts and bum rush them

There should be a "team" that can be set to "-", or 1-4. This is the team that the play is on. You have to make sure the ais are on a different team to you by clicking the box.

@@SurvivalistAoE I know i set the box to "-" that means no team and diff numbers of AI than me, but when i enter the game they are allies again and i cant attack them xD

@@kubson7210 There are a few other ways this could happen. If you're playing the "Wonder Race" Game Mode, then you can't attack others. Also, if there's a treaty set then you can't attack others. Those are the only things I can think of that could be wrong. There's a box that you can press in the bottom right that says "Reset". This will set the settings to default, which should work properly.

@@SurvivalistAoE I have aoe2 HD and there is a 2 modes i suppose, one is original game the 2nd one is The Expansion smtng like that, when i play on original game its okay everyone is enemy and i can be ally with someone if i want..But, when i choose the expansion mode where are a lot more civilization and options in game says "Their Stance ALLY" xD I tried to reset the options but nothing happens hahah.

@@kubson7210 Mmm, I can't remember how it works on HD as I haven't played that version since DE came out. There is a setting that allows you to change diplomacy when you get into a game. One of the menu options in the top is for diplomacy and you can change stances there.

Nope, only resources. You can put relics in your allies monasteries.

You can pause up to 10 times depending on the patience of your opponent

@@SurvivalistAoE i’m talking about vs the Ai. And when I say pause I mean freeze time and put actions into motion. As a new player, I have to sit and consider a whole bunch of things, the Ai doesnt have to sit and think about anything. It can put multiple actions in motion simultaneously. The way to level the playing field. Freeze time. Like FTL. Like Stellaris. Like surviving mars. Like banished. Like oxygen not included. Like rim world, Prison Architect. I think like most strategy games. Maybe they do it in the latest ‘age of empire’ game?

@@docrock3234 no idea about your setup but normally f3 is the pause button, if you play vs AI only you can abuse it. Just remember to not do this vs humans as they’ll be understandably confused or annoyed 11😊
