I never knew this was possible and I would sometimes just record whole song in one tone while playing but then just cut/paste parts into different tracks with different tones manually but thats far from optimal because the feeling is not there if you're playing a certain part in a different than intended tone. Excellent, thanks!

I haven't looked into it, but you may be able to use a MIDI foot controller to manually switch tones in your DAW. Otherwise, automation is your best bet.

Oh, thank you! This gave me idea how to switch em in real time. Just add marker track and put numbers from 1 to 9 and switch in between them using number keyboard. Step II, find a numberic keypad, some sturdy pedal with normally open switches (quantity from 2 to 9) and solder switches instead of buttons. Isolate circuit board, fix it inside the housing and now you have real time switcher!!!

@@KillrBuckeye Why not both? I think many people would be interested in seeing what exactly is going on there from the technical side of things. There's many of us trying to figure out this whole process so we can make better sounding covers, or take self-created music to the next level. There's plenty of guides and tutorials already but there's always some different, specific things you can learn from every new video you watch. And it would be interesting to see it from your point of view, to see what you do and how, because we all gotta admit, your production value is great and your music both self-made and covers just sounds great.

Great video - I was searching KZfaq up and down, but could not find, what I was looking for! At 5:25 you show your trim dialogue - which looks exactly like mine! I always thought there is a bug or something is broke, because it shows just numbers under the BiasFX2 plugin. Now I see this obviously intentional. Which is a bummer - if it had the correct alias names like any other plugin I use does, one could switch presets easyly without having to set up other tracks. You would just have to automate the parameter for preset banks - unfortunately it is hidden beyond one of those stupid numbers. Shame on you, PositveGrid!

You are correct. After I filmed the video Finn told me that the cutoff frequency of the low-pass filter was automated to gradually increase during that lead-in. So to do that I would use the filter frequency envelope and draw a diagonal line as you suggest.

I want to record a song and I would like logic to change track during recording. By using volume automation the guitar switches from one sound to another, when I play. The problem is that it doesn't change sound, when I record. Some choose different inputs for each track, but when I change the input on one track, then the sound dissappears. I could record each sound one at a time, but in this song it seams weird, because the song changes between two sounds all the time. Do You have an idea what to do?
