I'm an editor receiving different types of video files like mix of .mov and mp4, etc. Is there a way to convert them all into 1 same formats before I combine and edit them into 1 sequence? I've noticed that premiere is having difficulty playing back and exporting the videos probably bc they all have a different formats/codecs while my sequence is set into 1 specific settings for the whole clip.

Thank you for the video. Is there any way that you can ask Media Encoder to KEEP the original files you drag into the Watch Folder, instead of just deleting them? I'm asking as I have to make a duplicate copy of my original footage - and that is taking 4 hours. If Media Encoder didn't delete the original files, then there would be no need to create that duplicate copy of the videos before batch processing with Media Encoder. Thanks

Just tested it out. Sadly Media Encoder must be on for this to work. Now, Media Encoder will pick up the slack once you turn it on. So if you put 10 videos in there, and then turn on Media Encoder, it will start going down the list of videos and encoding them.

Tried doing this with a avi video. It keeps telling me that vid is corrupted. But I can play the video fine with VLC, Windows player, etc.

yeah, but now all of my 139 source files are in separate folders. I have to pick them out and put them back in my media folder for editing.

just select all your folders inside which needed files were put into. the cut and paste into a single folder. then enter that folder and search in the windows explorer window ".mp4". it will list all mp4 files you have in any of the subfolders as a single view. Select all -> Cut. then go to desired location and paste

Well yah, if you are talking about media it doesn't support I agree. However, if you are talking about 4/8k, then it all comes down to the hardware in your computer!
