17:00 I think statement 1 is also sufficient since question says that the profit increases for a certain book, means the next 2200 books will sale more than 40K, which gives proof that 4400 books exceeds 80k profit.

For the second question (i.e. the tacos question) , can we not isolate a and input a value of c that would make a an integer?

Hi Charles. In Data suffiency would be great if you can help me to solve the below question: Q. Lee has three separate savings accounts. What is the total amount of money in the three accounts? 1. The total amount of money in any two of the accounts is $8000 2.Atleast one of the accounts contain $4000. It says answer is A(statement 1 alone is sufficent). Can you please throw some light on this

Hi Charles, regarding the last question, just wanted to clarify where I went wrong. It asks for the avg of the 2 largest salaries, so my question is why would we need to assume if all the 5 salaries are same ? If all the salaries are same, then there’s no point of 2 largest annual salaries. Also let’s say that the 2 largest salaries are 120k each, then the other smaller ones have to be less than 120k which would make the avg of the 5 less than 120k. Please correct me, I’m not able to understand this.

Hey, I also got the same doubt. But , I think that's the way of tricking us. Cuz in question they have clearly mentioned largest salaries- so we end up thinking a>b>c>d>e or something like this. We wouldn't know if a=b=c=d=e. Though all are equal , any two will be consider as the largest amount. (This was the only way I could convince myself. sorry if thats illogical :) )

@@nehashashidhar462 Sure, but it's a really odd and awkward phrasing. Super misleading, and not in a useful way. It's totally a "gotcha" imo No native English speaker would phrase it this way. It is very unnatural and strange.

What the hell is the deal with calling them "the three smallest integers" and not "the three smallest salaries?" I interpreted this initially to mean the single integer that was part of the bigger salary. For example, if one salary was $85,295, the smallest integer is 2.

Hey! About the last question- 1) It says two 'largest' salaries. and 2) says two 'smallest' salaries. If they were all the same amount, how would there be largest or smallest among them? Not clear about this! Kindly help

As Charles previously stated, we have to separate statement 1 & 2, so we don’t mix the way we think about the relationship between question and both statements. This might be help if we arrange-> data: (a)there are 5 salaries; & (b) the average of the 3 smallest salaries is less than 120k->Q: is the average of the 2 biggest salaries bigger than 120k? --> if we ONLY diggest information from (a) & (b)-> we can’t answer the question, can we?

@@ambecksfulful This does not answer the question. "The three smallest" by itself is really confusing and misleading if all 3 are equal. Also, "the two biggest" by itself is really confusing and misleading if all 3 are equal.

What would be the answer for question number 1 if statement 2 says "The profit exceeded $86,000 on sales of 5800 books"?
