📌 𝗙𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽𝘀
Step 1: Installing the Backup Plugin
Click on plugins from your WordPress dashboard, and then click on add new. Search for “Updraft”,
Install the Plugin” and then activate it.
Step 2: Taking a Backup
Go to Updraft from the settings part., click on backup now. Tick all the boxes and then create the backup.
So how backups work?
Go to pages and delete any page. visit the page to ensure that the home page has no content.
Let’s now restore our backups. Go to Updraft from settings in the Wordpress dashboard. From the current status tab, click on restore, tick all the boxes and confirm the restore.
Step 3: Setting Up Automatic Backup
Click on Settings on your Wordpress dashboard and then click on Updraft. Go to the settings tab.
choose a remote storage location for backups. Select Google Drive and click “Save”
sign in to your Google account, and then give access for the plugin to be used.
How about cases when the whole site crashes, and we do not have access to our dashboard.
Three things would be done:
1. Remove the old installation of Wordpress from your domain provider.
2. Install Wordpress again on your domain.
3. Restore the backup.
The first and second steps vary according to domain provider,
For the third step, after the fresh Wordpress install; install the Updraft Plus Wordpress Backup Plugin again.
click on Google Drive and then follow the prompt to provide the needed access.
click “rescan remote storage”
Click on the backup, tick all the boxes and restore the backup.
So this how you can take backups of a Wordpress website

Sham, I need your help, please. Recently I had a domain transferred from another GoDaddy account to my GoDaddy account. It had been hosted on GoDaddy and designed on WordPress (I have the website backup files as you said in the video). My problem is I want the website live as it was before the domain transfer. I tried calling GoDaddy for assistance but still not able to solve it. Your help would be greatly appreciated, Sham.

I've been scanning for WP backup plugins all week and this was far and above the most concise and detailed video yet. A backup with an untested restore is not yet a backup, and you did just that. Excellent job!

I have to agree with the other commenters. This is an excellent training video. I tried to follow some written guidance about how to back up a Wordpress site and was completely lost. Within the first 5 or so minutes of this video (not even to the end of it!), I had backed up my precious site. Really, excellent; very professional. Thank you.
