@@evawebster1518tbh I couldn’t see upclose, however I have a good percentage of grays and my hair looks exactly like that. And it’s not until you look close that you notice them. Either or, the concept is the same, by utilizing this technique it’ll help go a little longer without dying it again.

Thank you for the education! My question is on timing. From the time you started the timer for her root color to the time you finished the balayage application, the time remaining for the process of the bleach was what? With her being a 6 and wanting to be beyond the orange stage are you not concerned with her root color going too dark? I use Wella, it gets darker the longer I leave it on, less transparent. This technique is a fabulous add on!! BTW, I joined MOB on line training and I am excited for July 1!

This is exactly how I approach this scenario. The only con that I find is that the roots stays darker than the rest of zones. Client likes it very close to roots. If that’s the case I’d go grey process first but takes long. And they ask , how much time ? Please .. don’t ask me that. You chose it! 😂

Beautiful! Thank you! I subscribe to your monthly education and appreciate your videos, but I’d love to see a video on VERY long virgin hair that requires a base color and balayage done simultaneously. I do it this way and it takes forever: I begin in the back and take a slice at the bottom and apply tint from roots through ends and place a foil on it. Then I take another slice and paint tint only on the first inch of hair and balayage the rest all the way down and cover with another foil. I repeat this process of alternating one slice of tint from roots to ends followed by a slice of tint only on root with balayage on the rest. By the time I finish the entire head the back is typically ready to rinse and then I allow the front to continue to process. It takes a very long time and I’m wondering if you have a faster process for doing LONG virgin hair that needs all over color with balayage? If so I’d love to see a video. Thank you!
@RyanWeeden
@RyanWeeden 5 жыл бұрын
jodi B Ooh! That’s a good one! When you say base color, are you talking about going darker or lighter all over in between the Balayage?
@jodib4622
@jodib4622 5 жыл бұрын
Hey Ryan, Since I usually balayage with bleach the all over base color would be darker than the hilites, but it’s often lighter than the natural virgin color. Sometimes I do foils in bleach first, then afterwards go in between the foils and do a base color, but that only works if they want the hilites to go all the way to the top of the scalp, otherwise their own natural color would show. So if they need an all over base color to get rid of grey and they don’t want their hilites to reach to the top and prefer a deeper root, then I do it the way I first described which takes a long time! I was wondering if there was a faster way? As I write this the answer is occurring to me. I could do the bleach hilites first by painting the first inch or so with color and then bleaching the rest of the length and wrapping it in foil, then after the foils are completed I could apply base color to everything else that isn’t in a foil. That would be faster than doing the base color and hilites simultaneously by alternating each slice I think. Would love to hear any suggestions on what you think would be the most efficient way to apply an all over base color from roots to ends while also doing a lived in looking balayage in a single service? Thanks for the reply!
@RyanWeeden
@RyanWeeden 5 жыл бұрын
@@jodib4622 I think if you are balayaging AND adding a base to color to everything, that's going to take a lot of time regardless. Unless you are using a demi-permanent color darken or go tone on tone in between your balayage. Then you can apply it faster. But if you are putting a permanent color in between and have to wait for full processing time, that's a time suck. Are you actually using a permanent base color to lighten in between?
@jodib4622
@jodib4622 5 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much Ryan for getting back to me, that’s so generous of you! I always use Demi if I’m just looking to add some depth back into the hair, but that’s not what I’m talking about here. I’m talking about someone who’s natural color is either very dark and they want to be lighter, or someone who wants to get rid of their grey hair completely. And I’m not talking about a touch up with 1 or 2 inches of outgrowth, I’m talking about a first time application of a base color with added balayage for dimension. I’m just trying to figure out the best way to do them together simultaneously? I know it’s a big job and unrealistic to think it can be done quickly, just trying to see if it can be a little quicker is all. Thank you again for all your time! And if you ever want to make a video of how you’d accomplish what I’ve asked about I’d love to see your perspective! Thank you Ryan!
