If you ever wanted to try grafting under the bark of an older fruit tree, you must have wondered when is the right time for this method of grafting, and today I gave you the answer to that question in this video. Grafting under the bark is most often used when we have an older substrate that took root well in the place where it was planted, and when we successfully graft this kind of substrate, the development of grafted branches in the crown is very fast and we can already have the first fruits within a year after grafting. The apple tree that I used as a rootstock is over ten years old, it bore fruit every year, but the variety is not resistant to diseases and the fruits are not of good quality every year. Grafting under the bark also gives good results with other types of fruit, such as plums and pears. , quince, apricot and our other fruit trees.
