Great tips on Oneida Lake if you're thinking of fishing it for the first time. I'll give ya some good "suggestions" on where to fish and what baits to use.

I live here and concur with everything you've said. One very important item is to get a map of the lake. New anglers tend to drive too fast to get to some spot and don't realize all the rock piles and shallow water areas there are.

Agreed. Have a BFL here this year, and just looking at the maps on my units, it's amazing how many ledges, humps etc are around.

I know Oneida can change quickly but are bass boats really that lousy on rough water? (I"m a deep-v guy which is why I ask). The video ended talking about how rough it was getting & I didn't even see a whitecap...not too choppy in my world
