Steve helped women solve the mysteries of men, by inviting eight guys to get honest and "man-up" about topics they usually avoid around the opposite sex. Host of CNN’s "American Morning" Sunny Hostin joined Steve to help field questions and navigate the conversation.

Steve could you do a topic on motherless daughters? There are many women that grew up without the example of real guidance from a female...

This stuff tends to be 's multi-faceted. We all learn from different sources over time. The coachable and internal and external... it's also not a yes or no... or a good or bad father... I can say this... I have been in leadership and sales and all sorts of things... being a father, son, and husband... by far the most challenging and rewarding. It's never one thing.. but love and caring really helps a lot. It's also funny when your personal life and tending to your family intersects with larger contexts and realities. The needs of improvement from various sources... inspirational, but can be overwhelming. It's small and big... Any leadership role and change management and helping dads... let's just say, there's a lot of connections, and it's good. Thanks Steve.

Just like in this clip, being a father, is doing the work and giving the wife/mother the credit at the end.

Oh, and push your children. You are not their friend. They can hate you through their 20's but when they are in their 30's living well with a happy and well provided for family they will thank you. I have worked with a number of Japanese men and they are certainly not their children's friends but look up the number of homeless, unemployed or poverty stricken Japanese families in America and I promise you you will find vary very few. It takes strength and discipline to be a father. Anyone who is agreeable can be a friend.

I am a Victorian era father in a modern time. My focus is providing for my family to pay for all their needs and all extras. I am a blue collar worker but I work every bit of overtime that I find necessary to provide the quality of life that my family deserve. My family is my legacy. My job however is just the means by which I accomplish my real work and that is to create the best man my son can be. My son needs and wants for nothing and I will do my damnedest to provide the opportunities necessary for him to be the most upstanding and solid man he can be and raise his children in a similar fashion till long after I am gone my family will be known as a family of good name. No one these days thinks about the long term, especially the very long term but that is how greatness is achieved, with work and sacrifice for years on end and over generations.

i think the worse thing is when kids (and i felt that) get theyr influence or roll models from the street, and from bad kids from the street. my parents allways worked alot and i was alone 6 days a week till up around 22h. fortunately i didnt hanged around the bad kids from my block. some of them today are either arrested or like junkies parking cars in the street. its funny when i look at theyr faces, and i imagine theyr faces when they were kids playing in the street, trying to beat us and throw rocks at us. and now that toothless face and empty eyes while they wait for a car to apear

Father was in and out of prison my whole life, being a daddy to a boy I believe I would have failed. But I have daughters. I'm good at a lot of things, but being a daddy is the only thing I do good.

Hi Steve, my problem is that I have three kids and they fathers are not in their life, and not because I have left the door open for them to see them, just because they don't want to see them. One of them live in Wisconsin and the other two kids father live in Kentucky. So how can I get them to be in their lives, not just saying they owe Child Support, but this is the biggest problem with them.

Men have ego issues. Thier ego trumps doing what's right And most are shamed for expressing their emotions Yes men have emotions but if they expess. There viewed as weak Which is the furthest thing being humble and compassionate and venerable is real strength. My father has never said anything good compassionate caring shows zero emotional connection

in the 1960s or so. it was easy to know what a father was: the one who brings the money. Now that women are the bringing the money too.

what happens if the son or daughter have homosexual parents? Would they still turn out being good fathers and mothers themselves despite being raised by homosexual parents?

I'm not a liberal but I do think so. I don't know why homosexual parents shouldn't be able do give their children a loving home where they can grow. It's much better than to live with a single parent.

crashpal lol that's why in Christianity homosexuality is wrong. A woman can never be a man. Only a man can play the role of a father and only a woman can play mother. It WILL cause a lot of issues to the children.

@@andyfam5613 did you know that was a mistranslation? The actual verse was a reference to phedophila. A homophobic rich man put that into the Bible and we still worship it.
