Salem 987 excuse me?? He didn't promote iniesta or valdes... Rijkaard did. He inherited a world class treble winning side in Bayern Munich and he couldn't win the champions league. He arguably had the best squad in the league and he spent the most money in the league yet he couldn't win a trophy. Everyone says that he is a very good coach who improves players and promotes academy players but he hasn't promoted a single one at man city. Instead he has spent £200 million + on defense alone. He didn't promote Iniesta or Valdes. But I think he did well when he promoted and coached Busquets, moved Iniesta from the wing to modfield, and put Messi as a false 9. He is a great coach but sometimes he sticks to his philosophy and that cost him games.

some people talk about money, but let's see what is the most expensive man city players price he bought? under 60 million, other clubs spend 70 million or more on just 1 player, ( pogba, morata, lukaku, neymar ) pep buys good players and turns them into world class players, so he is world class manager, never doubt about it

Man City fan here. We did not have a world class team before Pep. Yes, he wad given loads of money to work with. But he was able to pull in the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Gundugan, Danilo, Sane, Bernado, because of the success he's had on other squads and the respect players have for him. Mourinho won no UCL with Real Madrid, Benitez ruined Real Madrid, Carlo has won one trophy with Bayern so far. Not to forget, Carlo Ancelotti had superstar squads too but everyone hails him. A Wold Class manager is the type of Manager that could manage a Lower team and turn them into a success. Like Brian Clough at Derby County and Nottingham Forest, Alex Ferguson at Aberdeen, Even Jose Mourinho could fall into that bracket with Porto. But Pep?, I have yet to see if he could do something with a small team, give him Scunthorpe Utd and see how well he does.

I heard a Doctor say the reason he did not work in the US where he would be paid lots of money was because he wanted his skills to help those most in need. It was not about the money for him, it was about the satisfaction of helping those in need. Brian Clough always said a great manager needs to experience the lower leagues, because only then can they manage with what they have got and be successful.

In my opinion Pep isn't a World Class Manager. He's just overrated. Barcelona and Bayern are/were the Best teams in their divisions. The only challenge was Real Madrid in his Barca Days, but Pep had a much better Squad. And now When he hasn't got the Best Team in the league, he struggles. Additionally he plays a very boring football. World Class Managers are for me: Mourinho, Conte, Klopp, Zidane, Ancelotti or of course Wenger😉

First of all, when Pep took over Barcelona, they weren't great. 2nd, he had Ronaldinho at the time and had the balls to take him out, and Messi in. Pep made Messi. 3rd, just because your team is the best on paper doesn't mean the job is easy. There's a reason why managers in world class squads doesn't keep the job for more than a couple or few years. You surely need a class manager to even win with a class team on paper. There's no doubt that pep is a world class manager. He changed football with Barcelona. He set a new standard. Now he is setting a new standard with Man City.
