In this video we will talk about how to be extraordinary from the philosophy of Friedrich Nietzsche. Friedrich Nietzsche was one of the main precursors of existentialism and his goal was to pave the way for “Superhuman”, an extraordinary superior and absolutely free man.
Friedrich Nietzsche, through his teachings, wanted people to see the great height of their extraordinary potential and to break the chains which kept them prisoners in order to conquer their true freedom and to help us understand those teachings, here are 10 lessons from the philosophy of Friedrich Nietzsche which can teach you how to be extraordinary -
01. Be an essentialist
02. Be authentic
03. Look for wisdom, not knowledge
04. Put your will into things
05. Love your destiny
06. Never fear failure
07. Always speak your truth
08. Stay connected to nature
09. Be pragmatic
10. Be a dynamite
We hope you enjoyed watching the video and hope this video helps you get closer to being extraordinary.
Friedrich Nietzsche was a German philosopher, poet, essayist, and cultural critic. He is considered to be one of the most daring and greatest thinkers of all time. His writings on truth, morality, language, aesthetics, cultural theory, history, nihilism, power, consciousness, and the meaning of existence have exerted an enormous influence on Western philosophy and intellectual history. He was one of the biggest precursors of existentialism, which emphasizes the existence of the individual person as a free and responsible agent, determining their own development through acts of will. By his famous words “God is dead!”, Nietzsche moved the focus of philosophy from metaphysics to the material world and to the individual as a responsible person for his own life. Friedrich Nietzsche wrote several books like The Birth of a Tragedy, Human, All Too Human, The Dawn, Thus Spoke Zarathustra, Beyond Good and Evil, Twilight of the Idols, The Will to Power, The Antichrist, and many more. His teachings have shaped the lives of many people; from psychologists to poets, dancers to social revolutionaries.

When I was little my mum used to help me to do my math homework. Everytime I got stuck and started crying that I don't understand she said: ok, go take the trash out. It was 2 min walk outside and 99% of the time when I got back home I knew the solution to my problem. Till this day everytime I feel stuck or down I go out for a walk.

It captures the most fundamental ingredient in living a life of purpose, which gives you the fuel to endure. I spent over 6+ weeks studying the life of Chadwick Boseman recently and his final years was the essence of Nietzsche's statement. Thanks for sharing this video.

As I've gotten older and have gotten a clearer picture of so-called 'reality', I've set more and more limitations upon myself. I look at statistics about how uncommon certain things are like overcoming certain addictions or getting a certain job or anything that's statistically improbable and think, "I'm not special enough to be an outlier who overcomes the odds. I'm a slave to being all too human, so why even try?" This defeatist mindset has been like being tied down with a ball and chain that has gotten heavier while I've gotten weaker. However, my New Year's resolution is to be more comfortable with being uncomfortable while being less comfortable with being too comfortable and learning to "embrace the suck" . Most of my life has consisted of finding shortcuts or what the kids call "hacks" that allowed me to exert minimal effort for the maximum rewards. I did the bare minimum (and sometimes cheated I'm ashamed to say) and skated my way through school. I also choose an easy university degree and worked menial jobs with low barriers to entry. This constant search for efficiency and following the path of easiness may be helpful in certain circumstances, but if applied to nearly all aspects of life, you end up as a slothful idling blob who lays about in indolence. For about a month now, I've been running fairly consistently and am on a streak that's super rare for me. Whenever I suffer the pain of running during near maximal effort and tempted to stop or walk, I keep reminding myself to embrace the suck and to be mindful of how running will pay great dividends. Cold showers and ice baths are things I also plan on working my way up to. I think living a safe and relatively easy life made be soft, so it's imperative to introduce some beneficial and controlled stress in my life. Controlled stress could also provide physiological benefits that uplift my mood, reduce inflammation, strengthen my immune system, etc. I used to powerlift and go to the gym 3-4 days a week prior to the covid pandemic, so a major source of beneficial stress vanished, which caused me to wither away mentally, physically, and spiritually. Procrastination is major issue I'm working on, which has tormented me most of my life. It's weird how it's physically easy to do the things that my laziness perceives as painful and how the pain of overcoming laziness can feel worse than physical pain. A major source of procrastination is surfing the internet, especially on my dopamine-flooding and time-wasting laptop. I'm seriously considering getting rid of my laptop and making do with my old smartphone. The withdrawals and void left by not being able to get a dopamine fix from my laptop will hopefully compel me to get that fix in healthier and more productive (not drugs!) ways like reading, doing a major cleaning purge of my apartment and maintaining a high level of cleanliness and orderliness instead of allowing it to fall into a mess of chaos, being more active outside, socializing in-person much more frequently, finally getting my passport, studying for my personal training certificate, and many other things I've been putting off out of my laptop-induced procrastination. Anyhow, thank you for mentioning that profound Nietzsche quote and inspiring me to continually take inventory of my life and strengthening my resolve to overcome setbacks and follow through with my goals!

@@jzen1455 thanks for sharing this. It’s inspiring. The most difficult step I’ve found is acknowledging that you want to be better and having the will to act. Looks like things are going well, keep it up and more importantly keep it sustainable, don’t burn out. I always try to remind myself in the midst of a difficult pursuit that greatness lies on the other side of suffering. Having a purpose to keep you going can be an inextinguishable fuel. Keep up the good fight!

Authenticity is a great trait to have; however, being authentic, genuine and/or truthful comes with its own baggage in today’s society. When people say they want authenticity, they only want it when it’s doesn’t hurt their feelings. A true authentic person would probably have a difficult time in building relationships, as most people do not want the authentic truth; rather they want politeness and agreeableness sprinkled with authenticity. Truth be told there are authentic people out there, they are considered “a$$holes” or “weird”.

@@TheObsidianLogic There are times where, being authentic may create barriers, but being an asshole just because being authentic might be a stretch. You might feel that people who are more assertive are authentic, but you might be authentically non-assertive. You might be driven in thinking authenticity and assertively walk hand-in-hand. But sometimes being authentic is just being you anytime-anywhere, wherever and whoever you are I guess. I don't disagree with you, but because I'm an assertive individual (at least I've been proven by many situations I am).

It's such a mind-blowing realization to accept that lil ole me can embody philosophical theories of some of the worlds greatest minds. I'm currently in Louisiana, dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Ida, and this whole experience is one big experiment for me. My family has been bewildered by my sense of calm and desire for solitude while they congregate in one room, to sit in silence while playing on their cellphones. And they think I'm the weird one!?!? lmao

I would say it’s somewhat the opposite most people are not in their comfort zone they just live in an illusion that they are in fact most people are leaving extremely difficult and hard-working lives they are running in circles with the belief that there is an end to it and assume they will be able to sail off into the sunset once they retire at the age of 70 and are basically almost dead. The vast majority of people are so stuck in poor financial decisions that appear normal and actually a sign of success such as having a mortgage and a car payment insurance retirement plan a family without any sort of money to support it before you even start it and other money draining decisions That force them to work 50 hours a week and ensure that they have no time to think for themselves or ever think for a way out of that situation. The house is literally a wooden structure that protects you from the wind and gives you a place to sleep and cook food yet people are willing and think it’s completely normal to pay 300,000 if not most of the time after interest rates around $1 million if we include taxes. Because people are so afraid of being judged and too lazy to find alternatives in life they are essentially demented herd animals forever running in a circle never growing and just existing to exist.

This excellent lecture about the philsophy of Nietzsche made me reflect how far I am away from being a "Superhuman" (could we also say "Superman" or "Superwoman"?). Actually I am living according to essentialism, a few years ago I started to free myself from all things and persons which were not essential for me and who constrained me from becoming the autentic person who I think I am now. But from my own experience I also know that in order to become really authentic in the sense of realizing our whole potential, sometimes we might need the inspiration of a good friend who gives us a kick into the right direction. Wisdom has always been more important to me than knowledge. Often I am lacking basic knowledge of things "one should know", but I ask myself "why should I know them"? Also I avoid being a slave of my environment by not follwing mainstream behaviour. I have indeed a strong will and face reality as it is. Actually I have often asked myself whether I have a free will and I don't think so. But I feel free to accept my destiny and make the best out of it. I also recognize myself in all the other points mentioned here. For example, running in nature is often the best way for me to free my mind so that new ideas can pop up. I'm not sure whether I am something like "dynamite", but indeed most of the time I feel full of energy and joy in my mind.

your thoughts should also always start from the point and understanding that 99.9999% of the people around you are ignorant and EVERYONE is a victim of the country, economy, society, culture AND THOUGHTS you grew up with, and there are only a few who can put themselfs above that. those thoughts alone should make you happy, and make you understand each individual, "people's reach of understanding" things as a whole is almost none existing.... all they se is (for them alone what is wrong and correct) once u can understand this, u can stop working on urself, and start working for others.

I’ve been learning more from stoics and nieche and applying it in a week then I ever hoped to learn about experiencing a worthwhile life. I’m unsubscribing from all distractions and focusing on my personal values and reflection to guide my life. Thank you. Subbed 😊

Darn good thinking, this guy did. I've been following this philosophy for a while, on my own. Now I know that it's not a bad way to live. At least, for myself.
