How To Be Productive Without Being Aggressively Self-Disciplined (For Those Who Are Awakened)

I’m going to be completely honest here. Because honest to god, I think we as a society have it wrong when it comes to self-discipline. I don’t think self-discipline always leads to success, especially the toxic, forceful kind where you’re pushing yourself to do something that the whole of you are resisting. Is it just me or doesn’t it feel too aggressive? Anyway, in this video, I talk about a productivity technique that works for me.

When they said she was going crazy, she was awakening. When they said that she was isolating, she was healing. When they said she was acting funny, she was growing. When they said that she had changed, she was evolving. When they said she did not care anymore, she finally realized that her peace lives within. When they said he was becoming distant, he was learning to trust himself. When they said he was losing touch, he was finding his inner voice. When they said he was being stubborn, he was asserting his boundaries. When they said he was aloof, he was finding solitude and serenity. When they said he was being unrealistic, he was dreaming bigger.

same; burnt out too . and yeah, spent maybe a year just turning over the concept of ‘self-respect’ in my mind . and I completely changed my definition of ‘discipline’ . now it means, ‘the discernment of taking action on what truly aligns with my heart’ . and now, ‘discipline’ is all about play, never about work . work is a thing of the past :)

Wanted to add to the chorus of people saying the timing for this is perfect! After my spiritual awakening I have left my job and am planning to go to grad school, and preparing my applications has been really stressful because the way I know how to perform is to put immense pressure on myself and force discipline. However, this perspective really helps. Thank you so much Reí!

Thanks Rei-what you said resonates with me-I'm not so disciplined anymore as that used to stress me out-I tend to go with what I feel like doing in the moment and not worry about what doesn't get done as it doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things. x

Exactly!✨Compassionate Heartfelt INSPIRATION over Narrow, Ego-Minded INSISTENCE - ☀🏆 Be kind to yourself and follow your inspirations - that's how you merge with the power and flow of the universe - _your_ YOUniverse! ⚠Procrastination is a message: Now is NOT the time to act! I highly resonate with this, I remember being a docile member of the hustle culture getting up very early to work long hours till it was dark, just to achieve goals that at the end failed to fulfill me. Then I had my spiritual awakening that were seven months of pure “chill the F* up” stage in my life. I learnt to treat myself dearly, now I take things slowly and found that I put more care into them without putting any force, I always conserve some grade of discipline but more focus in being constant instead of intense, and the progressive advance is a bliss, it like planting and caring potatoes :v. Keep up the good work, best Regards!! 😊😊😊

I was the most hardworking and disciplined person before my awakening but ever since I was awakened in 2021 I just cannot work hard enough, over the years I was thinking that I am being lazy and procrastinating whereas the reality is I cannot operate with the 3D pattern anymore! I just cannot force myself anymore, I cannot be harsh on myself, I cannot work going against the energetic flow and even if I try I just cannot be my old hardworking, disciplined self anymore.

I'm definitely more like you, and I've been doing it wrong these last few months! I've stopped exercising and cooking and hanging out with friends and making art and dancing and doing all the things that make me who I am! Balance is the key, I know this. But it's up to me to follow my guides' advice and put it into action the correct way.

Perfectly in alignment with where I am at. It seems I came to the same conclusion the day before you posted this. With ADD, staying present is a struggle, but I get what you mean when in the zone. I strive for that now. All other distractions are just clickbait.

This really hits me. Because I've done the same my self. Trying to give back for the sake of being disciplined because of all the time i've spent on doing things for fun. I've always love making music, but as i opened up about it to others they all asked what genre, and i din't think about those things. Realized that I was far behind everyone else and forced my self to copy what othes did with their music. And now I've just succeded with it, and i'm not happy with the results of it. And right now, I'm on the verge to give up on making music entirely. I've spent money on things that will give me the ability to expand even further, but what for? LIfe has not been easy for me so I've never been able to spend time on making some songs with things I actually want to do it with. So those things and programs are just lying there... And now I've managed to just do it for the sake of doing it, and I still a rookie because of all setbacks life has giiven me. Today, I feel unworthy of making music like I don't deserve it. Because of the lack of discipline through my life.

Heya, I feel so validated to see this!! Thank you so much for sharing your experience! Before being awakened, I was also very self disciplined and always got high grades. After my awakening tho, as people pointed out, I got ‘lazy’ and ‘slow’, when in truth, I just liked to give it my all and recharged whenever I sensed I need to. I also ended up achieving many of the things I had always wanted to do but had been procrastinating on, done, during that ‘flow phase’! However, that clashed a lot with the societal system and didn’t work for very long as a result. However, that taught me that I am really not made for a 9-5 job when I grow up and know what works best for me once school is over! I am certainly same type of creative and sensitive person like you, so your vid really helped me acknowledge and accept myself better, thank you! Also 5:46 is so damn true, it really helped me realise why I had become so ‘slow’ and ‘lazy’ while just blindly following my routine. Whatever doesn’t give me satisfaction, I just can’t do it any longer! Again, thank you for letting me know I am not doing anything ‘wrong’ by trying to be me!

Hi Rei, Why are your messages and videos so timely and resonant for me? Thank you for that lol. It has occurred a couple of times now that when I have become aware of an aspect within myself that I want to understand...... boom - there is one of your videos or cute picture reminders. 🤗 I recognise this video within myself and how I deal with stress or anxiety. I have a lot of people who come to me with questions and I'm constantly interrupted in my workplace setting. On one hand I like that I am capable of guiding and helping people, then on the other I resent it because they seemingly have no capability or desire to use their own initiative. These interruptions cause my focus and productivity to become staggered, messy, and anxious ridden. Then those feeling arise - At the peak of those sensations how my energy is perceived becomes snappy, unapproachable, annoyed and causes others to say oh she's in a mood again....... When I am literally panicking inside and just want to burst into tears because the sensations are so uncomfortable. I have also noticed that when trying a different way to communicate this, like - hey, I am feeling rather overwhelmed right now can you please go ask someone else? Most people just stand there awkwardly blank like I don't know what to do, make a joke about it, or they start fussing over me wanting to talk about it, when all I want in that moment is the space and time to focus - what I needed in the first place 🤦 And so the cycle continues. This has made me feel depleted and lazy in my recharge time, and those thoughts of not being good enough, or being complicated etc. are present just like what you have pictured. It is reassuring in a way that you have illustrated these exact challenges so beautifully, which makes me feel less misunderstood. I am eager to become apart of the level where I too can feel at ease and have such clarity, kindness and beauty as what your videos and messages bring to others. Thanks Rei! 💌

I'm similar in having immense struggles to get stuff done that I'd have to fight myself against. Even if part of me knows some of these things are necessary to become more of a stable adult. Because some of these changes I can't avoid, but I also can't force myself, I journal in dialogue sometimes. One part of me is this emotional child who feels all this pain and resistance towards the world and the things I have to do, the other part is a sort of parental figure validating those feelings but staying calm and trying to help find a compromise that allows me to progress my goals without burnout. It works because the side of the child wants validation from the parental side, and the parental side's absolute first priority is the well being of the child side.

I totally agree! This is soo Me! It's more like we don't get enslaved into the human invented clock system and follow our own body clock to know what- works -well & when and then doing them rightly in a very meditative manner. I love this lifestyle as it tunes me into my own rhythms and allows me to experience life firsthand every moment without wasting my energy. And the contentment that I get out of it couldn't be better🌻Love this video🤍

I've heard so many people say that learning a language was hard and I had that mentality too, like it's something I could never do, but one day I decided I really wanted to learn Japanese and I told myself to just practice and try, I had such a fun time learning Kanji like it was a game. When I started focusing on how there are 2,200 kanji that I need to know it made the process harder, the goal should be to have fun and keep learning not focus on a number. Because I started to think of language learning as a fun hobby and not a chore I learned it easier. Then when I was told that Japanese is the hardest language for an American to learn according to The U.S. State Department I just ignored it cause the grammar is soooo much easier to understand than English grammar The lesson I learned is "Enjoy the process of it and the end game goal is always to understand, not to be perfect."

I wonder, would you be able to do that on your previous job? Are there jobs that are just inhumane and can’t be dealt with that way? Is it possible or necessary to find a flow when your being crashed by a capitalist system? Likewise, could your body’s reaction be not at the work and self-discipline itself, but at the current place where you are working, and pushing you towards something else with the way it makes you feel?
