How to beat Ghostbusters on the NES: 1: sell the cartridge back to the used game store or on ebay 2: use the money to buy the Sega Master System version 3: be surprised at how many issues the game fixes and how legitimately fun it is. The drunk drivers on the roads are easier to avoid, you have 4 choices of vehicles (though the Ecto-1 is the one everyone loves anyway), the music, while still just the ghostbusters theme on loop, is actually pleasant to listen to and it loops seamlessly instead of fading out and back in, there's a password that lets you continue from the "Zuul Building" if you successfully gain access, and (get this) YOU CAN ACTUALLY SHOOT THE GHOSTS ON THE STAIRCASE SCENE!!! Also, the graphics look colorful and cartoonish, with that charming Japanese "cutesy" look, instead of looking like they were drawn by an 8-year-old in Microsoft Paint.

Thanks. Used to play this on the Apple II and never knew how to play it. I could do the ghost catching but always used to die at the start on the overhead city map because of the Stay Puff Marshmallow man .

There's no way the game has THAT MANY DEVELOPERS and sucks as hard as it does. And the voice clip is clearly just one of the game devs shouting the title, hence the slight Japanese accent (the bad compression on the title voice clip reminds me of an old toy; bear in mind the 2A03 had AMAZING sampling capabilities when utilized correctly)

My tutorial is similiar except I completely bypass the ghost catching sequence and wait it out: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/eM6Brb10qZqqhok.html I also did a very simple but tedious method of staying in one place, firing twice and resetting the screen after two shots were fired. Didnt realise the boss got hit points back but it eventually breaks through.

An absolute trash game, and I never could beat Gozer. I remember being so excited when mom uncharacteristically shelled out $50 for it at the toy store just as a special treat. We had all seen the movie in the theater together so how could the game not be great?

the Famicom Ghostbusters is notariously awful, produced by the equally notariously awful Bits Labs. If you want to play this game, play the Sega Mark III/Sega Master version by Compile. Unlike Bits Labs, Compile didn't produce a completely substandard version of this already kind of meh game.

Looks like an awful port of the C64 game which looked and played so much better.

This is such a TERRIBLE game! Though, I remember having a lot of fun with it and lots of great memories!
