I've done this material quest before and I had the same issue of the AI simply running to the house, that said, I lost two suvivors in the same run due she aggroed a jugg + ferals and I was very far from base or other place to go on foot as the car got broken

Really like the way you show us your f ups, makes it relatable and trustworthy. Imo it was worth upgrading your base for another outpost because you can push deeper especially if you clear the area where the plague heart was woken, you could get a far base.

Interesting. After blowing the "Materials for Everyone" mission, maybe investing the 4 bags of materials first in foremost in upgrading Command Center. This gives you another outpost slot. Then go claim a cell tower, which allows you to activate plague disruptor. This will allow you to kill the awakened plague heart without awaking linked plague hearts.

Hey Brian man, it's been a minute. About waking up the plague heart, there is a cell tower near your base that you could've run interference for. It's a steep price of 180 parts plus 240 to get the outpost but it makes these forays into plague territory much easier.

I know that Undead Labs is working on State of Decay 3 and I don't want them to stop making it. But an update I think everyone would love is: a new leader type that has to do with Road/Travel mindset. Clear out roads and even give you a boon to give you more efficient (permanent +2 yields) outposts. No adding into the game, just using tools they already made, and the main draw is deleting the clutter that new players, like me, hate to weave through.

I had one of these escort missions and the npc ran into a barn that had a screamer and a feral and whole horde. I very nearly died.

Just f up my playthrough with this mission... Funny thing on nighmare the plague heart was like two houses apart and didnt wake up the other heard. I did had 6 hordes on my base i needed to fend off before going for the heart. Luckily my other two had shotguns. So we fended it somehow. And ferals dont have head defense...so i am happy i went nightmare.

sleeping in the cell tower hard, the parts are well worth it, allow for a way way chillest playstyle, and with computer knoledge it cost barely nothing, point is , i could not play lethal zone without cell tower outpost and the plague disruptor command it just a shore to keep the map clean without it respect to brian tho, youcan see what mastering this game looks like, love.

And I have noticed, that AI followers won`t go running and guns blazing, IF you stay crouched! Or then, you could just unarm them, like if they haven`t silencers in their guns.

That Builder mission "Pillage and Plunder" is risky is all I'm going to say. Last time I did it was when I played on nightmare difficulty. The mission led me into plague territory. I parked a bit away with my car and while crouched I sneaked forward with my follower. But just like with you when I got within a certain distance of my objective me follower stood up and ran towards the objective aggroing everything in it's path. Screamers and zombies screamed and pulled everything around into the fight also. Me and my follower didn't die but we got hurt badly and the plague heart woke up. The ai do that every time you do that mission (run towards the objective like a headless chicken). So I pass on doing that mission nowadays. You got 4 bags of materials but 1 of those bags belonged to that shed so you would have gotten that 1 bag of materials if you had looted that shed later. So really you earned 3 bags of materials. And I don't think you needed those bags of materials. You already had a level 2 infirmary and a level 2 workshop. You were lucky that there wasn't a juggernaut around that spot that was aggroed into the fight by all that screaming. If there was a juggernaut there your follower probably would have died since your follower would not have fled, since it wants to do the objective for the mission. So you were lucky that there was no juggernaut there ripping your follower apart. In my eyes 2 or 3 bags of materials is not worth risking a member of the community for. I would rather use a little bit of influence and use the call in for 1 sack of materials a couple of times if I really need to get my hands on some more materials.

Fresh lethal start is goin great. Lost 2 cooks 1 Cruisin top speed in my sweet Road Racer RTX directly into 3 bloaders that just renderd in falling out with a ferrall jumping on me. And to 4 ferralls on my second plague heart lol. My third cook is High Pain Threshold tho!

It's ok, you forgot to give her a silenced gun but you can also take that loud revolver away from her at any time.

Hi Brian, for the awakened plague heart, after upgrading your command center finished, u can go get cell tower outpost, and here where that outpost come to help ur situation, hope this help the guide too. God Bless

Dont forget that you can park 2 cars in 1 parking space. If people didn't already know this. And if its to dark remember to park your car with the lights on in the direction you are headed to have a wide area view of your surroundings in the dark.

I like the run you are doing and i am learning a lot. The biggest problem i find myself running into is that even though I through the smoke on the heart and start beating on it with a heavy weapon the Ferals still seem able to target me. Is Ferals supposed to be able to attack me while i am in the smoke? It also seems to me that with each phase a new Feral spawns and attacks me but with your clears it is usually only one Feral for the entire heart.

I started a Lethal zone playthrough after watching this. And im doing surprisingly ok... Apart from the fact that I, for some reason, didn’t know that sheriff missions involve hostile humans and went to go talk them down over some meds they stole from another community. I grabbed the meds pack and went to just walk out like an idiot. The person that was with me got gunned down as we exited the front door and I held them off barely with a crossbow until I ended up just running away with the meds, leaving me with a hostile community on the map now I have to deal with... Traders and builders are all that are getting their missions done in this playthrough, now haha. That was so close to my first death of a community member on this run and I'm not about it 😅😂 Edit: 50:05 is the house they're in, too. I might just drag a jug and some hordes down down onto them. That might take care of them.

2 more lethal zone tips for newbies. The best way to deal with a tri-feral pack, the builder leader sniper tower is the best way for those and jugs. Tip 2, even if a zone (circle area) curve ball makes the zombies weaker, I find that the sheer amount of zombies increases and the agro a lot easier regardless of what the curve ball is. It's only worse when the cb makes them stronger. So generally try to avoid them in the purple circle regardless of if they are weaker. It might be bugged, but they're just nastier inside the circle, almost worse than when they are in plague territory.

i also dont use ai that much but there is a mod that makes them somewhat a little decent now they can heal them selfs and wont shoot if u dont and if there is loss than 6 zombs on ya

The fact that State of decay 3 gonna come out on 2027 cause gta is coming out in 2025 and that’s gone take over the scene so I would guess SOD3 to be release after gta

When I see the pillage and plunder mission and where It is located I said to my self don’t do it just don’t. It is just get a lot nasty when you have a follower, will it happen to me and the AI spun a jugy and I lost sid the follower 😁
