Sure it sucks for that "missing" girl, but without the phone as evidence there is no point in pursuing it. Trying to keep the phone was what caused all this. Better to just forget you saw anything give the phone back and not hang with these people anymore

I love how instead of saying something like "Hey your perv friend left his dead phone in here, I'm gonna take my drunk best friend home now to make sure she's safe" or just leaving the phone where it was and again leaving because you're uncomfortable with how Gooch acted around your drunk best friend and want to makes sure yourself and her are safe, which would both give you completely realistic and undeniable reasons to simply leave and report your findings to the police later, Eden decides single handedly put not only her dream of going to a ivy league college down the shitter, but also her and her best friends life in a single completely pointless move. Truly impressive work! It takes a true professional to turn making an easy escape into a death sentence in literal seconds but she manages it flawlessly.

Yep, equalization of the pressure inside the car and out, once the pressure is equal, it would be little to no more difficult than opening the door in open air.

23:11 this is ONLY if there is NO water in the car the water that is inside the vehicle matches the water pressure outside of it, making the doors a viable (albeit risky due to "even more water entering the car") exit option no water = no door, simple to remember but can save your life 23:32 actually, all windows are weaker at the corners, NEVER AIM FOR THE CENTER/MIDDLE, IT TAKES WAY MORE FORCE TO BREAK

It has to be said that it is wiser to only SHOUT “fire” as well, and not actually MAKE a fire. Yes, I am aware that a thin trail of smoke billowing behind you might be able to SELL the illusion of a fire, but since the protagonist made so many crucial mistakes, and there is a drunkard in the room, if a small fire is made with no way to secure it and stop its growth at any time, any attempts to make a fire with limited supplies will end badly if the drunk wakes up and knocks It over. And this is made worse if YOU somehow get into this situation, because then it’s life and death, and not a movie. Best case scenario; An ACTUAL fire will start, and you could get out with your friend, but very likely to loose the phone. If you loose the phone, the murders could blame the fire started due to you (which would be mostly the truth) and you can kiss not only the recommendation letter, but many colleges goodbye if you are arrested. Worst case scenario; The fire breaks out, but you can’t get out of the room and burn to death, along with your friend. (This seems more likely, since while not every party-goer in the movie might have an IQ of a rock, enough people are drunk and/or stupid and/or brain damaged enough to run out of the house, and not be able to call a fire truck since all the phones inside the small box would burn INSIDE THE HOUSE THAT IS ON FIRE; even though in that scenario, the party goers could probably slam their palms on the doorbells of the next door neighbors for their phones.) However, I did just stop a little after the 10:30 mark and found this relevant comment, so I did NOT see the ending yet, and I am REALLY hoping that the protagonist didn’t set the room/house on fire unless she had a good reason/there was literally no other choice/she had to buy herself and/her friends a few seconds so that they could save themselves.

Set off the detectors. If youre a congressman then chances are you have security. Emergency services are required to go every time a detector goes off. And this was a party. People are loud and might not care what youre saying because theyre drunk or stoned. "What if a fire occurs when no one’s around? Who will call the authorities for help? Are fire alarms connected to the fire department? Fire alarms can be connected to the fire department through fire alarm monitoring, but the default option is a “single-station” fire alarm, which is not connected to the fire department. With fire alarm monitoring, the system is connected to the fire department. When smoke sets off a fire alarm, heat triggers a sprinkler head, or someone activates a manual pull station, a message is sent to the central monitoring station where an operator immediately notifies the appropriate local fire department. Emergency responders dispatch to your location without delay to put out the fire and ensure everyone’s safety." Even if you start one, you could try making a makeshift rope using bedsheets or try tossing stuff out the window to make jumping out the window softer.

You made it pretty clear that most of the murder weapons have the prints of the actual killers, there's that video evidence as well, and the fact it aligns with the father and two other bodies suddenly wound up in a lake so they have way more going for them than the murders do.

How does she not have this level of self-awareness, where you confront the person you saw in the video, give them a countdown letting them know that you're about to scream, and don't immediately go down the ladder. Plus iPhones literally have a 911 button when you hold the properly down.

About the Window thing. You can open a door underwater according to Mythbusters, but only when immediately hitting the water, or after allowing the entire interior to become flooded (to equalize the interior and exterior pressure.)

I have a number of questions about this movie but the one that I really want answered most: Is having a undrcut, big enough for a phone charger fit through, at the bottom of doors a common thing? A small gap sure, but one that is large enough to fit the adapter on a phone charger through... I have never seen that before.

It really depends on the house, in mine for example, pretty much all the doors have gaps at the bottom big enough to fit anything from a phone charger to a bulky laptop charger through.

10:46 i hard disagree here, either nobody is gonna hear us because of the party, or they’ll assume we’re drunk/high. Better bet would be lying to the killers by saying we texted/emailed the recording of the murder to ourselves and used it to make a dead man’s switch, if I’m not home by noon tomorrow to put my password in it gets sent to the police. The fact that she came clean tho is so dang stupid just down an ipacec or something to make you throw up and then go home and report it to the police in the morning. 18:19 “he’s not letting us leave cuz his friends are dead, there will be a police investigation so buying him off is pointless.” - easily articulated. 19:44 yeah we’re dead at this point, best bet is to go out swinging, if he has enough control over his rabid dog of a son to make him stop trying to murder us maybe we can get the hatchet and swing it wildly before stealing the keys to the car and ditching daddy dearest. 20:49 oh wait he’s stupid enough to think he can buy our silence? Yeah sure I’ll take it, few thousand and whatever deals he can get for our father before we shake hands and leave, odds are if I do tell the police I’ll be dismissed out of hand/suicided (I’d still try anyway as soon as I’m safe at home) but hey an option to get out alive presents itself, curious if he’ll throw in a PS5. 24:24 cool, hope she arms herself with a gun… or 3. 25:17 yeah but when has she ever acted logically this entire movie? I get your thing is logical conclusions to problems but you’re assuming they have more brain cells to spare than they do, I’d be surprised if they could spare enough intellect not to run down the hallways screaming. 26:13 and whaddaya know. 27:30 that feels in character honestly, she’s just covering her bases to make it as easy as possible for him to kill her after she inevitably fricks up whatever half brained scheme she has for killing him. 27:45 Half brained was a complement I’d desperately like to retract.
