We visited Oldham Athletic's Simon Cooper, who overcame adversity to become a football coach. We find out his story, and get advice from Oldham legend, Tony Philliskirk on how to become a coach.

Took my FA Level 1 and Youth 1.. decent programmes. Ive now been coaching older teens in america for 3 years. Just keep learning. Never ends

I might be 5 years late for this video but it's still brilliant, it's my dream to coach football at any level I just want to inspire and improve the next generation of football talent . It seems like such a rewarding job whilst I can do something which I love which is football

I'm currently coaching at schools and grassroots level but I really want to take a step up and get a full-time job. I'm currently doing my FA Level 2 & Youth Mod. I'm hoping to get my UEFA B&A one day, I'm 20 years old currently in my final year of uni if I make it anyone can.

Nathan George hi mate, I'm looking to do academy coaching luckily for me a few of my U8s players I've coached are at that level so I can attend workshops for them. My aim to be an academy coach & go all the way simple. My advice is get a lot of work experience & understand the difference's between different club & coaching philosophies at grassroots - academy level.

Cringe Boy91 I started off by being a volunteer for a local Football club that worked at schools doing PE lessons & AfterSchool clubs. 10weeks down the line after I got my FA level 1, I got a paid role now I'm looking to move players I have forward to academy levels

Nathan George go for it mate it will be tough, some days you'd feel like why are you doing it (with the amount of voluntary work off your own back you'll have to do) but once you're there you'd know it's all worth it 😊

Working on getting a high enough coaching license over here in the states, can anybody tell me if I get my A coaching license from the American soccer (or football) federation and want to coach abroad in Europe, how does that work? Like will my A coaching license from the states apply to a country in Europe to get a job with a top clubs say youth academy or any type of coaching position?
