I really differ from the "psychology" part, if you backtest a pair from a period of 5-7 years and have a mechanical statistical edge( an edge you can easily follow) you can throw trading psychology out of the window because that way you'll have historical data for your mechanical edge showing you that having 7-9 winning trades is totally normal but also having a negative month is also normal. Instead of trying to get your mind in the "right path" just gather stats and psychology goes out of the window. Trading is sort of like a different career path in the sense that you need to have data on how to do things, do you really think engineers need to put their minds in the right way to make their work? Or they just follow the already taken steps to create or develop something? Statistics>trading psychology
