Becoming more interesting is a great way to improve just about all of your interactions with others. You'll find that people are more willing to hold conversations with you and members of the opposite sex will find you more attractive.
But how does one become more interesting? The best way to analyze this simple issue is by first looking at what makes people uninteresting!

Becoming more polarising sounds like deliberately doing abnormal things just to seem more interesting. I think a better way to become more interesting is to just learning how to be yourself and makes you different and consistently try to be authentic in your thoughts and actions

To me it sounds like to actively listen to what the other person is saying. To be interesting u must be interested. I would put the people I talk on pedestal, seem very much interested in their interests (sometimes I lied going to hip hop classes etc) I make them feel like they are the most fun person I've been with. It always work. The reason I'm here is I don't seem to keep this for long term. Like after a while they kinda act "bored" of me (?))

My best advice would be: stay weird and be confident. Surprisingly it will get everyone’s interest on you, im no scientist or anything like that but it’ll make you look mysterious and that gathers everyone attention as well as try to be as dominant as you could everytime in a group of people.
@lotzamra7872
@lotzamra7872 6 жыл бұрын
I think the main point is that "be yourself,and be honest about what you like & don't like." When I tried to please everyone by trying to fit in when I was younger,I got a lot of enemies. When I just relaxed and did not care about what other people think about my looks or opinions as I got older, I get surrounded by more people...and unexpected admirers,too. Hehehe . So don't try to fit in, be different..be comfortable with being different Sure,other people will find you weird..but they will get used to it. Sure,everyone won't be your best buddies..but who cares. You would want to be around people who accept you and jive with you. Being "weird" is better than being branded as "fake".

I think there is a difference between being unique and polarizing. You don’t have to be controversial to be interesting. Being knowledgeable about a variety of subjects, well traveled, and open to various interests and hobbies is different to being controversial. What you are talking about is more applicable for marketing in the social media space.

Controversy is subjective. What may be controversial to you might not be the same for others. At this day and age anything you say can ruffle someone’s feathers🤷🏻‍♀️. So your some of your unique traits can be seen as polarizing and/controversial. But also it might not be that deep when he used the word polarizing🤷🏻‍♀️ he might have just used the word cuz it sounded better to him

I was feeling and still am, a bit dejected. I have had very minimal socialization growing up and now I find it horribly hard to hold any conversation. Hence, I developed social anxiety and other 'mental' problems. It's extremely stressful when you truly want to connect with others but have no idea how to do so. This video made me realize I am a plain Jane and also seen as a weirdo because I am so disgustingly shy😭....but here I go to change! If anyone has more tips please do reply and give them to me🙏 Opening up and being vulnerable to dislike terrifies me😭

If you need another simple answer, here I'll try. The first step is to stop trying to become more interesting. When you doing that, you're trying to correspond to someone's interest, which does not mean to be interesting in principle. To be interesting means to be a complex/unusual well-built person, which is achieved by a simple "Do and achieve what you yourself want and the way you want", just think with your own head and you will succeed (although it probably sounds trite and stupid)

This video is interesting, actually, because the content wasn’t what I was expecting. In fact, it actually helped me think about an aspect of my personality that I can’t help, and that gives me social anxiety: the fact that my opinions are polarizing. I’m not actively trying to be a contrarian mind you, I’m actually extremely embarrassed by how little I agree with most people, and do my best to hide my opinions and avoid expressing them. Does this make me a creep? I don’t lie about things, I just don’t casually offer my opinions ( I think that can feel pushy!) and prefer to listen to the opinions of others rather than end up fruitlessly arguing and end up alienating myself or others. I’ve found disagreeing with people doesn’t really make me many friends. Thanks for another video with some really interesting perspectives. I’ll be thinking about this!

I also think that it’s only creepy if it’s apparent that your holding your opinions back in a discussion or your withholding information in a discussion when you reply to someone. The other person will think that that’s weird and creepy because if you withhold your opinions for example when their expected, they will wonder why you are doing so

I'm very polarizing too, but I'm a bit proud about it. But, like you, I like to keep myself shut and let other people talk, in part because I'm shy, in part because it's smarter to know more before talking. The thing is, the people I got closer disagree with me a lot, but in the end we are always building knowledge. I'd say try to find friends with the mindset to put learning before their pride, these are the best

This is better than I thought it would be to be honest, initially thought this would be a cliche video on how to be "fake" or "popular" for the sake of appealing to others. But I agree with everything you said, putting your hobbies, opinions, and interests on your chest for others to see while being open and honest about your quirks makes you interesting. Let others judge you and brush off the negative judgement that is unneeded, it's not your problem and there are others who won't view you as a lesser person for it.

All these points here, I've been doing them all my life. I have little to no filters or inhibition so one my first at any function be it a date, 1st day at school, job, what have you, I'm usually doing handstand walking or showing off my art talents... or hitting on the local cute office girl.

I agree with the point that being polarizing can come off as creepy to others however i think it's not always necessary to be overly honest about something, i mean i find that being mysterious is somewhat alluring and makes someone interesting but that's just my opinion though

Just focus on your goal and just work hard on your goal , their is no problem if people don't talk to you or you don't have many friends , but you have to talk to brilliant people in your class .And being honest is the most important thing.Don't try to act polarizing or try to become interesting person because you become interesting to gain attention of others , stop trying to become savage . Being strong that if I am doing something right then it doesn't matter if even lots people are ignoring or trying to show you down . Let them keep showing you down and you just keep trying to achieve your goal.

Right... I tend to be polarizing and honest, and that makes the people around me think I'm a creep. A comment like "I squat on the toilet" followed by an explanation of why I do It will invariably be followed by a comment like " Er... Right... Must be off,I forgot something in the oven"

I have a friend who is extremely fun to be around. She has polarizing & honest ideas, but TBH I don't feel like that's the only thing I find interesting about her. There's also the fact that she can switch to one topic to another - disposing of each topic one after the other until you eventually lose track of time. There's something so captivating about her. She's also able to get a move on in life and doesn't complain or vent often. Obviously, this is probably 'cause she's not depressed or diagnosed/potentially has any mental disorders -- I don't want to discourage venting.

2:50 grammatical error. It should have been “must have” instead of “must of”. This is a very common area that comes from the abbreviation of “must have” to “must’ve”, which phonologically sounds similar to “must of”
