Starting my decor business next month and two important tips l have learned are working on your business the more and not just in the business. Other is be a specialist in a certain service or product and to will sell you out rather than putting unnecessary competition. I attended iwed in deerfield florida as my first investment in myself and biz. I had followed them for about 3yrs before taking the leap of faith. My hesitation was the cost. It was a week long class with daily training in different areas of event/wedding decor. My take away was all about backdrops. Although I did enjoy the class, I did leave feeling like I needed one more week. Thankfully with the class you got 1yr free access to how to videos with different styles

Can you make a video about what to do when tje party is over. Do client take down decorations or is it you? Do you leave flowers to the client or take them home for yourself? If client is like 100 km away and you go to install the decorations, do you stay for the night in a hotell to clean it all up the next day?

When the party is over it all depends on the venue policy and what was in the contract when your client signed. Mostly if you are the decorator you leave and come back once it’s over to collect your stuff .

You can start now at age 16 and build up your clientele. You don’t have to go to college to become an event design and manager. You can take courses at local colleges. Google event/wedding courses in your town. If it’s not in budget watch KZfaq and get an eye for it. Work/volunteer for a wedding planner that you like in your town. But if you want to go to college business management is always a great major. You can get a Job in any career w that degree even if you change your mind on career path.
