With that said, in this episode, we’re going to show you in 5 easy-to-follow but essential steps on how to actually “become the perfect rapper” based on exactly how you see the GOAT tier artists that you like.

One of the toughest challenges in learning to rap and becoming a professional rapper is knowing what to focus on to develop a unique, authentic style that makes you stand out.
In this episode, we’ll guide you through 5 crucial steps to becoming the perfect rapper, as you envision, based on the traits of the greatest artists you admire.
To become the "perfect" rapper, first identify the specific rap skills you want to excel in.
Avoid wasting time on fleeting trends and focus instead on fundamental skills that define you as an artist.
For example, imagine if artists like Benny The Butcher focused on trends like auto-tune instead of honing their unique sound.
This step involves assembling your toolkit-identify essential skills such as flow, voice, style, songwriting, and rhyming ability.
Creating a list of these skills helps you track progress and align your abilities with those of the top artists you admire.
With your skills list in hand, analyze top rappers who excel in these areas.
This involves deep diving into the techniques that make these artists stand out.
Study how Juice WRLD integrates spontaneous thoughts into cohesive freestyles, how Eminem crafts complex rhyme schemes, how Kendrick Lamar adapts his flow, and how 2Pac’s powerful delivery resonates with listeners. This step isn't just about enjoying music but understanding the choices behind the artistry.
Re-listen to your favorite tracks with a focus on specific techniques.
This fresh perspective helps you appreciate the nuances of the craft and identify elements you may have missed.
Analyze how these artists' skills have evolved and influenced the rap genre, which will help you refine your own style and integrate successful strategies into your music.
Practice intensively focusing on the skills you've outlined.
Consider structured training like our “Freestyle Fortnight Course,” which provides daily drills and lessons to enhance your freestyling and songwriting.
Consistent practice is crucial; integrate freestyling into your daily routine to make these skills second nature.
Engage with other rappers and the audience to test your music and get feedback.
Focus feedback requests on specific aspects of your track to gain constructive insights.
Collaborate with other artists to learn new techniques and interact with your audience to understand what resonates with them.
By following these steps, tailored from over a decade of coaching rappers worldwide and being KZfaq’s top subscribed channel on rap learning, you can progress towards becoming the artist you aspire to be.
Remember, each step is about building towards that perfect version of a rapper as you see it, based on combining your personal goals with the successful attributes of your favorite artists.

Great tip about physically writing down aspects of other rappers you want to replicate. I’ve got my list down in the front of my journal, where I do 7 minute freestyle writing every morning

@@maja2197 Everyday I set a timer for 7 minutes & in that time I just write anything that comes to mind. Sometimes it doesn't make sense, other times you get some gems come out. It helps me because even when I'm not songwriting I'm in that creative mindset. Figuring out what works, trying to stay away from safety phrases & rhymes that you use a lot. It's helped me a lot in my writing!

If you just mean which ones to pick and not how to find them just pick the ones you think sound cool that you can flow on. It’s that easy don’t overthink it

I’m reading Berry Gordy’s book. In it he implies the difficulty of creating a sound that would consume the masses. The point in this video about asking for fine tuned feedback is brilliant for multiple reasons, but specifically brilliant for explaining training for laypeople and one’s fans about what to expect from one’s art.

Right now, I'm in high-school, and broke and the good beats are pricey; and in currency conversion, USD to JMD, price hefty. What to do? I really want those beats.
