First , thank you. I follow you every morning from 5-7 am . I painted hundreds of live models for ten years. I rarely finished any after the two hour class. I did twenty five paintings in 2020. I finished all of them by breaking it down in stages. Even you would appreciate some of them. I did two with your rough linen the doctor style. My brother is a famous diagnostic doctor. He’s had a rough time giving bad news to thousands. I used your technique to show he hasn’t had it easy it’s been rough. But the final painting showed his true character. We need you to keep moving the bar.

Did you use any mediums in that first layer? How long until that layer dries to work on top of? Or will it stay wet tomorrow for you to continue to blend in the wet paint?

I have a question Cesar. I have never properly attempted a painting, but I am competent in portrait drawing. Would it be a good idea to follow along with either your self-portrait course or this course from start to finish, and try to end up with the same result as a complete beginner to painting?

Yes, am no longer doing premixed for the flesh. The colors are different.. etc it has been over 6 years since

Cesar you mention that the next stage would be "tomorrow". How do you dry oil paint in such a short time or are you continuing to work wet in wet. If that is the case how do you avoid muddying up the colors or getting an oil slick serface where the paint no longer sticks on top of still wet paint from the previous session? Thank you.

I use this process. I need to stay focused. If not I can walk by the painting daily see something and sit down and it’s two hours later . If I compare results of a step approach vs constantly correcting it is dramatic. I need to buy a safe and stick the painting in and lock it so I can not give in to this constantly correcting. Help !!!!
