there are a few reason, number 1 is you dont want them to block your units when going or clicking somewhere number 2 is you dont want an undead player to have corpses that they can turn into skeletons, number 3 is humans can build spy animals that look like critters so this way you are on the save side and number 4 is if you stuff them out they make a nice decoration around your place

Night elf mirror would be the only possible only way to complete this, where it will be too easy (wisps don't chop trees). For everyone else, 15 trees is only 750 total lumber, which is extremely easy to gather casually, even noob v Grubby. Consider: each individual gatherer, no upgrades, will probably chop down a 50 hp/lumber tree every 40-60 seconds (low end is gonna be Undead, with the double gather rate AND capacity at tier 1). Ballparking, this means, if you're a night elf, and the enemy builds to 5 on lumber, you probably have, max, about 5 minutes to either completely disrupt their economy or end the game. Anyone with a single goblin shredder will see it gather 15 trees worth of lumber *by itself* in maybe two minutes. Now, notice in this very game that, at 5 minutes, on orcs, which early on aren't lumber heavy, Grubby only had a single level 2 hero and 3 combat units. With which to permanently destroy the lumber gathering capacity of the enemy. Which is *also* around the time that he *himself* had gathered 750 lumber, i.e. 15 trees, and he wasn't exactly try-harding on his lumber economy. Interesting idea, but night elf by itself completely disrupts the challenge, and anyone else is too hard. Make it like 20 or 30 trees, that might be more flexible.

@@Pgoodso That’s fair. I was trying to think of what would be a reasonable number to allow, and my first estimate was 50. But then I was like, “That’s barely even noticeable in some games, may as well not have the challenge.” 30 is probably more reasonable, but I definitely want to incentivize attacking lumber gathering units to prevent harvesting. And yeah, I did kinda figure night elf would ruin it. Maybe a different cap for each race would make the most sense? If playing against night elf, 10 trees. Undead have good harvest so maybe 40? And then 30 for human and Orc.
