How To Bleed Brakes On Your Electric Bike - You Can Do It, It’s EASY

Жыл бұрынGet rid of those spongy feeling brakes and tackle that job you’ve been putting off. This was my first attempt at a brake bleed and it was pretty simple! If I can do it, so can you. The bike in this video is an Ariel Rider X48 and the brakes are Tektro. The same principles apply to any hydraulic brakes, so it doesn’t really matter what kind of bike of you have as long as you have hydraulic brakes (not cable pull). You can order a kit on Amazon for $20 and it should have all of the adaptors for all the major brands.
Don’t forget to wipe your rotors down with rubbing alcohol when you’re done!

In my experience its best to take the bottom caliper screw out first and attach the filled syringe. If you take the top screw out 1st theres a few ways for it to let air in and youll leak out the bottom caliper.

I would of kept the pads in....if they aren't new air is only going to get into the system again. The brake block is a perfect brake pad measurement to make sure the piston is all the way in and to ensure if the brake is pressed the piston won't fall out

Glad you didn't take the rear wheel off and instead just took off the brake caliper. Much easier to just remove the brake caliper than either wheel.

Man I've been riding bicycle since I was a child and I've never had to deal with anything like this with the brakes just get squishy and stopped working what a pain in the ass.

Using the hopper method that you used instead of 2 syringes is the best option. Good choice.

It gives me confidence to try it since my rear brake won't work at all. As soon as my Oxycodone kicks in I'm going to take a run at it.
