How to Bleed Ski-Doo Brakes.

Күн бұрынHow to Bleed Ski-Doo Brakes on a Freeride, Summit 850. We replaced the brake reservoir after a recent mishap. Recommend using the Ski-Doo XPS Racing Dot 4 brake fluid. Hope this helps someone.

So did you use the DOT 4 Skidoo or the NAPA DOT 5 purple ?

We ended up using the Skidoo Dot 4. After some quick research couldn't find any clear information on if Dot 5 is ok. Hoping someone will comment if Dot 5 is ok.

My understanding is that DOT 5 is silicone based and is not compatible with DOT 3 or 4 fluid and perhaps not compatible with the components of a DOT 3/4 brake system. I have heard that if you want to switch to 5 you need to completely clean out the previous fluids. In general, the switch is not made.
