can you please add shimmer to some of these color blending looks? i’m ok at underpainting the mattes (but will watch you do it better all day lol), but then when i add shimmers (esp multichromes), it can get a little tricky. it’s definitely an advanced video, but i would love to see you integrate colored mattes AND multiple metallics or multichromes.

This is exactly how this would work from a painting perspective. I do wish you went heavier on the orange with the “correct look” because it doesn’t really come off as an orange shade (it’s still blended with the purple color). And it would be helpful I think to use a color wheel and demonstrate the color mixing on the wheel as you explain it. You could have also equally gone in the yellow/green direction versus the red/purple direction.

I'd love to see an orange/blue look where the middle shade was an intentional muddy-brown greenish. I know the "wrong" eye was the "wrong" look and technique but I loved the colors themselves MORE than I loved the "right" eye.

I liked it as well 😁 For me that green-ish colour was only too heavy in the inner corner, but at the outer corner it worked as an advantage. It was just like she used another dark green colour to darken the outer corner. With the proper blending of every layer separately and together and using something like pastel green closer to the inner corner that colour combo would look amazing too imho 👍I really want to try what I've just described myself! 🌈 = overrated

I've been watching beauty youtube since probably 2012 and I think I've been following you for about two years and let me tell you, I think I haven't learned anything new about makeup for a long time until I discovered you. Among beauty gurus it seems like there comes a point where everything has already been said about technique so their content resorts to only reviewing products. (which tbh isn't that useful to me since I live in South America where there aren't a lot of variety of products available) I learned so many new techniques from you and I genuinely feel my makeup knowledge is expanding when watching you.

Looks beautiful! I have to laugh though when Alex says she finished the lower las line and this is a “basic” look. For me it’s gorgeous and exotic, not basic at all. Im lucky to blend three complementary shades of beige 😆 But, I know she’s got much more sophisticated/ complicated looks so for her it is “basic”. She always looks fab!

I literally did this look after I saw you wearing it in a vid the other day. I am very much a no makeup makeup wearer. So I usually only wear natural colors. My hubby saw me with the orange and blue shadows on and he was like-WOW! That's bright! Then he said how it was so different but he loved it. Sooo thx! Glad u actually did a tutorial on it 😊

I do it so differently but it’s really interesting to see your way! What I usually do is that I use a transition shade (some brown for the majority of times) in my crease, then I blend it out to the colour I want (in this case it would be orange), and after that I would put the other colour (blue here) on my lid, sometimes after I cleaned it and put primer back on it

If you want your blue and orange to be very bold put the blue down. Then put the orange down. Don’t let them touch. Then use you small blending. That way you get to keep the striking color without creating mud.

The challenge for me is which color tones are similar to get a good look. Also tough knowing which color to use to blend/between the two colors. Makeup Artist are so good at color theory. Love how your blue red look turned out!

this video was SUPER helpful! btw i watched another vid where you mentioned your worry lines/forehead lines. i HIGHLY recommend Argiline solution by the ordinary. if you use it before heavier skincare steps daily, it REALLY works on those lines. my bff recommended it to me, and it really helps. mine were super fine like yours, im not sure how it would work on deeper wrinkles. it works like botox and paralyzes the skin, in a way. it’s great, super cheap, and i don’t hear enough about it.

How do we know what to use as a transition color? So if we have 2 complimentary colors, how do we know what to use to blend them together? Refer to colorwheel again?

Could you have gone va green/yellow? I feel like it would not be as good because the orange is warm, and it’s look strange to get to a warm color via cool colors… but I don’t know 🤷‍♀️ what do you think?

How do you know where to start on the eye? Sometimes you start on the lid and other times you start in the crease

Would I be wrong in saying that the "wrong" technique eye transitions through green, so if you did use a green eyeshadow in the middle... it could work? Also the end result kinda looked more pinkish? I feel like I'm a little too confused haha sorry

The purple-yellow blend done "wrong" still looked cool and grungy, but the blue-orange blend on the wrong eye here does not have that effect 🤣 The eye done right here looks so vibrant and fun!
